Liza pov
"You okay? You've been on edge for like the past thirty minutes and you've checked your bag over like three times." He asked, sitting down next to me.
No, I'm paranoid that Josh guy put a tracker in my bag or something.
"I have?" I played, not admitting it.
"Yeah. Did something happen while you were out?" He asked, making me think.
He's gonna think you're crazy.
"Oh, no. I was just looking for my vape. I thought I had dropped it, but now that I think of it, I remember leaving it on my desk." I lied, putting everything back in my bag.
"You sure?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrow at me.
"Yeah."
He didn't have time to grill me for questions further because there was a knock at his door. A part of my heart started racing, the thought of it being that guy scared me. But I soon realised it was highly unlikely that he would show up here, where I was with my boyfriend.
Jaden got up and made his way to the front door. He looked confused himself as to why someone could be at his door. It was clear he wasn't expecting visitors. As soon as he opened the door, the sound of a woman squealing and laughing rang through the house.
"Oh my god. Jae bae. Did you miss me?" A bubbly woman shouted as she wrapped her arms around him, jumping around with him in her arms, causing him to laugh.
"It would be impossible not to miss you Winnie." He chuckled as she finally let go of him.
Just watching them interact had my jealousy spiked to a hundred. This Winnie was gorgeous, her ginger hair was pulled back in a half ponytail as they rest was left to flow freely. Her pale complexion mixed perfectly with her emerald eyes, and the blue framed glasses sat on her face was just the cherry on top. Who is she?
"How have you been? How's the baby?" Jaden asked, ignoring the voice of another woman and the giggling of a child.
"Oh, I'm great. I feel totally fine after having Beckham." She nodded.
"Hi Jaden, nice to see you too." The second woman mumbled, pushing past him and into the living room, where I was.
I watched as a brunette walked in, an annoyed look set on her honey face. She placed a baby carrier on the table and bent down, seemingly talking to a child. I must have had a miserable or judgemental look set on my face, because when she looked over at me, she gave a look back.
"Who are you?" She asked with a nasty tone.
"Skylar, be nice." Jaden warned as he walked in the room with the ginger hanging off his arm. "This is Liza, my girlfriend." He explained to the woman, who was still looking at me weirdly.
"As in Liza Boeman? The girl you've crushing on for like ever?" The ginger girl asked, detaching herself from Jaden's arm and walking over. "Hi, I'm Winnie. That's my girlfriend Skylar and we're Jaden's friends from home. Sorry I called him Jae bae, it's been a nickname I've annoyed him with since we were twelve." She rambled, looking at me with a wide smile.
"Oh, no it's alright. I was just shocked, I didn't know Jae was going to be having company." I half-laughed, glaring over at my boyfriend, who was completely distracted by the baby.
"Neither did he. I couldn't come and see him when all the others came here before because I was so far pregnant. To cut a long story short I forced Skylar on the first plane out here when I was deemed safe to travel and may have accidentally forgot to notify Jaden of our arrival." She admitted, a slight blush of embarrassment took a hold of her cheeks.
"You want to hold him?"
I could see Jaden's eyes light up as he got offered to hold the baby. The look in his eye made a pit grow in my stomach. It was the look of complete adoration towards something so small, a look I could never share. Seeing him with that little glint as he cradled the baby made me worry for the future. It made me worry what will happen to us when he finds out my operation wasn't a temporary fix.
"Come, come see him." Winnie encouraged, trying to pull my arm.
"Oh, uh, I don't really do babies. I'm just gonna go upstairs and leave you guys to it. Have fun." I half smiled as I lightly pulled my arm out of her grasp and made my way to the steps.
I also grabbed my bag. I just knew that there was a tracker somewhere on this bag and I was determined to find it.
I opened the door to his room and immediately collapsed onto the bed. A part of me was full of dread, thinking of what the future could hold of Jaden ever decided he wanted to have a child with me.
******
"Are you sure you don't hate that bag or something?" Jaden laughed as he walked into the room, seeing me tear the bag apart yet again.
"What? Oh, it's nothing. Don't worry about it." I laughed, dropping my failed hunt until later when he wasn't around.
"Why'd you leave so suddenly? Win and Sky would've loved to have got to know you better." He asked, sitting down on the bed between my legs.
"I didn't want to intrude. I wanted to give you time with your friends before having to whisk yourself away to get ready for this dinner Travis set up. I didn't want introductions to get in the way of that. I mean, I'm assuming they're going to either be staying here or in a hotel for a while so I'm sure there will be other opportunities." I shrugged, brushing off the question.
"Well you didn't have to do that. But you're right, we do have to get ready for this dinner. So I'm thinking, you get your ass undressed and in the shower and I'll pretend that I accidentally walked into the wrong room." He suggested, running his fingers up my thigh.
"I think you're going to need to apologise to me for ruining my shower, liberally." I agreed, standing up and making my way I to the bathroom, removing items of clothing as I went.
