Liza pov
I groaned when I woke up to my phone going off. I pushed my head out of the many pillows on this bed, and felt around for my phone on the nightstand.
"What do you want?" I mumbled down the phone, not looking at who was calling.
"Are you still sleeping? It's literally eleven dude." A voice laughed down the phone, one I couldn't recognise from memory.
"Who the fuck are you?" I asked as I sat up, blinking a few times for my eyes to adjust to the light.
"Ouch Liza, it's only been thirteen hours and you don't remember me. I'm heartbroken." The voice said sarcastically.
"Oh. Hi Jaden." I smiled lightly as I stood up and walked into my room to get changed. "How did you get my number?" I asked as I grabbed out a pair of jeans and a cropped hoodie.
"I didn't. Landon told me to call you off his phone. He wants you to come down here and do something." He answered.
"Yeah, you're gonna need to be more specific. Down here could mean a multitude of places for us."
"The studio." He clarified.
"Okay, tell him I'll be here soon, and if you call him a slutty hoebag from me I'll give you a cookie." I laughed.
"I don't like cookies, but I'll do it anyway because I'm nice. Bye Liza."
"Bye Jaden."
I quickly changed into my clothes and drove off to the studio. When I pulled up there were two cars parked that I didn't recognise, I assumed one was Jaden's.
When I walked in the building, I saw a short blonde screaming at the lady behind the desk about letting her into a recording room. I didn't pay much attention as I just walked past and to the room Landon normally chills in.
What I wasn't expecting when I walked through the door was to almost be hit by a full water bottle. I didn't flinch and instead, caught it. I placed one hand on my hip as I looked at Landon who was sat in the spinning desk chair with a smug smile on my face.
"Hello to you too Landon." I shouted as I threw the water bottle back at him.
Let's just say, it missed both his legs.
"Bullseye." I cheered as he groaned in pain and hunched over.
"Fuck you and your perfect aim." He complained as he coughed slightly.
"Did Jaden deliver my message?" I asked him, completely ignoring his current state.
"The one about me being a slutty hoebag? Yes I got that message." He answered as he sat up.
"Why did you want me here?" I asked as I slumped down in the seat next to Jaden.
"Oh right. To record Everything I Wanted and Slumber Party. I don't give a shit what you say. I know you want to get Everything I Wanted out of the way, and Slumber Party is a fucking bop." He answered as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"But Landonnnnn." I whined, extending the 'n'.
"No Lize. It's a good fucking song. You wanted to record the second song for Marley and Slumber Party is something you can sing afterwards and get it recorded for it to go on your album. And Jaden's here because he was bored and had jack shit to do today." Landon explained, already knowing what I was about to ask.
"Fine." I mumbled as I stood up and walked into the booth. "You know I hate you right?" I asked through the glass as I put headphones on.
"Yeah, I know. But it's for Marley." He shrugged as I watched him turn some dials. "The lights are going on in three." He shouted before muting himself and the recording light turned on.
The music started and I was getting into the mindset for singing. I closed my eyes and images of all the fun times we had with Marley flashed through my vision. I opened my eyes, them stinging as I started to sing.
The run was perfect, which made me so happy because I don't think I had the energy in me to re do it. The lights outside came up again and the recording light shut off.
"Thank fuck." I sobbed out as I walked to the door.
"That was perfect Lize. Marls wold be happy." Landon said as he brought me into a hug. "Did you talk to him again last night?" He whispered to me.
I didn't say anything, but I nodded into the hug, which caused him to hold me tighter.
"That was really good Liza." Jaden said when I pulled away from Landon.
He also wrapped me in a hug. I inhaled when I hugged him, his smell. He smelled exactly like Marley did. Bleu de Chanel and a hint of weed. How is it possible that he got it exactly perfect?
"Jaden! What the fuck do you think you are doing?" A voice screeched, making me jump and pull away from him.
"Mads? What are you doing here?" He asked this girl who was now fuming.
"I texted you and told you I was going to come and see you. Why are you hugging another woman when I walk in?" She asked him as she looked at me with nothing but disgust.
I smirked and went to go and do something to make things worse before Landon grabbed my arm and pulled me back. He also held my arms behind me so I wouldn't do anything else.
"Don't." He whispered harshly in my ear.
"No baby, I was just hugging her to congratulate her. She had just finished a song and it was perfect." Jaden defended to the girl, who looked like she was having none of it.
"There are other ways to congratulate someone you know?" She sassed to him.
"You're right, I'm sorry. It won't happen again." He sighed as she nodded in content.
"It better not happen again." She mumbled as she sat down on the couch.
