Liza pov
"No. That's what I'm saying." I said to my phone for the third time since this conversation started.
"So you don't know why we've all been invited out for dinner tonight?" He asked, making me roll my eyes.
"No, Jaden. I don't know why. Look, let me finish up here and then I'll come over."
"Alright, I'll see you in a bit baby."
"Bye." I laughed as he made kissing sounds down the phone before I hung up.
I put my phone back in my pocket, and continued looking for an outfit for tonight. Travis has invited everyone out for a dinner but isn't telling anyone why. I decided I was going to go out and buy a new outfit. I know that it has to be something special because he even invited Vanessa, and he's met her once.
I picked out a spaghetti tube top with a matching pencil skirt. Jaden wasn't going to be too happy with the fact that the skit in the skirt ends quite high up my thigh, but I didn't care. I paid for the clothes at the cashier and left the building with a bag swinging from my arm.
I was walking down the sidewalk when I felt my phone vibrate several times. I picked my phone out of my pocket and saw how I had multiple messages from Jaden. Worried something had happened, I opened the messages while continuing to walk. It turns out my man child was just throwing a hissy fit because I didn't give him a kiss down the phone before I hung up.
"Oh god." I exclaimed as I accidentally ran into someone, causing me to drop my phone. "Oh, I'm so sorry." I apologised as I looked up to see a boy my age.
"Nah, it's alright. My fault too, I wasn't looking where I was going." He laughed, bending down and picking up my phone for me. "I'm Josh by the way, Josh Samson." He smiled, reaching out to shake my hand. (Kia said to do Josh Richards but I can't write that rats name even though I just did. Just pretend it's him with a different last name. Okay? Okay) (also thanks for the idea Kia <3 love you bae)
"I'm Liza. And again, I'm so sorry for running into you." I apologised again.
"Oh my god, how didn't I recognise you? I love your songs. Your vocal range in No Time To Die was incredible." He complimented, his eyes widening as he recognised me.
"Oh, well you seem to know your stuff. And thank you." I smiled, wanting to get out of the conversation so I could get to Jaden.
"Do you mind if I get a picture for my little sister? She's a huge fan of yours." He asked, getting out his phone. Fuck sake.
"Yeah of course, that's fine." I allowed, watching him grab his phone out and coming to stand next to me.
"Do you mind if I kiss you on the cheek?"
"Uh, I'd prefer if you didn't- oh okay. It's fine I guess." I quickly said as he did it anyway, smiling so it didn't ruin the picture for himself.
"Thanks." He smiled, stepping away.
"Anytime. Can I have my phone back now?" I asked, noticing he still had my phone.
"Oh yeah. Hey, it looks like someone called Jaden isn't too happy with you." He chuckled, reading my messages.
"It's just my boyfriend. He's being dramatic." I fake laughed, trying to ignore how invasive this dude was being.
"Hey, before you go, can you give me directions to the city centre? I'm kinda new here and I don't really know my way around." He awkwardly laughed, scratching the back of his neck and making eye contact with me. Was that meant to be cute?
"Oh, you're not that far away. Just follow this path straight down, and when you reach the Hard Rock Café, take a right and continue down until you see the four white pillars. That's the city centre." I replied, pointing down the way he needed to go.
"Thanks beautiful. I hope to see you again some day." He stated, not even asked, stated. As if it was a definitive.
"I have a boyfriend, like I said, so probably not." I fake smiled before walking away from him.
"Liza wait." He called out, running after me.
"What do you want? I'm sorry but I'm trying to go and see my boyfriend." I snapped, feeling really uncomfortable with this guy.
"I'm sorry, it's just you left your bag. I didn't want you losing your stuff." He explained, holding out the bag that had my newly bought outfit in it.
"Oh. Well thank you. Have a nice day." I quickly took the bag from him and sped walked away from him.
I finally let out a breath I didn't know it was holding in when I had managed to shut the car door. I don't know what it was, but something about that guy made me really uncomfortable. Was it the part where he kissed you on the cheek without permission? Or when he called you beautiful after you told him you had a boyfriend? Or where he was reading your messages?
I pick D. All of the above.
I tried to shake off all my feelings of discomfort and started my drive to Jaden's house.
When I pulled up at his house, I had to try my best not to laugh as I saw him sat on the porch steps with a pout on his face.
"Why are you being a baby?" I asked as I shut the door to my car and walking up closer.
"You didn't kiss me back on the phone." Oh for fuck sake.
"You're a child. You know that?" I laughed walking right up to him and kissing him. "You happy now?" I asked, watching him smile at me.
"Yeah."
"So fucking dramatic." I mumbled under my breath before pulling him to stand up and walking inside.
