A couple of hours later, JF, Camila, and Sebastian finished packing and were outside the house, watching the footmen pack the car.

"I hope your uncle is all right," David said to his friend, holding out his hand.

"Thank you," JF replied in a sombre tone. "And thank you for everything. I enjoyed spending time in England again."

"You are welcome anytime."

"Not if your parents have anything to say about it."

David chuckled as he pulled JF into a hug. The two continued to speak in hushed voices, so Darrel pulled Sebastian off to the side.

"I...I do not know what to say right now," Sebastian muttered.

"Me neither," Darrel sighed, taking his hands into hers.

"This might not be goodbye forever."

"But it could be."

"I know. Are you sure you are all right with me going?"

"Of course I am. He is your father, and if you want to go and see him, I would never stand in your way."

"Thank you, my darling. I am so lucky to have met you. You are the most beautiful, generous, kind woman I have ever met. Thank you for giving me a chance over and over again. I do not know what I did to deserve you."

"Seb, I am the lucky one," Darrel assured, as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I love you so much. You are incredibly caring. You will do anything for the people you love. And I admire that so much."

"I promise I will try my best to come back," Sebastian announced, holding back tears.

"I love you, Seb."

Sebastian pulled Darrel into his arms and held onto her tightly as if it was the last time they would ever be together.

"Darrel," Sebastian said softly, "I do not even know how to begin to thank you for everything you have done for me."

"Seb, you do not need to thank me," Darrel interrupted.

"Yes, I do. You are so patient and you believe in the best version of every person you meet. There were times when you were the only person who believed in me, or who believed in the better version of me at least."

"I did not have to believe in a better version of you because you are the best version of yourself. It just took you some time to believe in yourself."

"Well, I do not know what I would have done without you. And if I do not come back..."

"Please, don't say that," Darrel ordered as she began to cry. "I cannot bear for this to be our goodbye."

"But if it is..." Sebastian started.
