"Allen, get up," Thomas ordered, barging into the bedroom one morning.

"Go away," Allen groaned, keeping his eyes shut.

"Wake up."

"I got off guarding Her Highness' room one hour ago. Let me sleep for a few hours."

"No. This is urgent."

Allen sat upright and sprung out of bed. Thomas could not help but admire the bodyguard's agility and grace.

"What happened?" The guard demanded.

Thomas handed over the newspaper and pointed to the article on the front page.

"You woke me up to look at a newspaper?" Allen growled.

"Read it and you'll understand," Thomas assured.

Allen rolled his eyes but looked down at the article:

Royal Loyalties Divided - William Turner

The Princess of Wales grew up at Downton Abbey, believing that she was the daughter of Robert Crawley. Her Highness now lives at Buckingham Palace with her family and fiancé, the former Prince of Spain. While the Crawleys remain dear to the princess, it seemed obvious who her true family was, or is that so?

While on a visit to Downton Abbey with the Duke of Dulverton, Her Highness took ill a few days ago. Since then she remains in bed on the orders of the village doctor. Upon hearing the news, one expects Their Majesties to send the Royal Physician to Downton. However, the princess remains with the Crawleys while the Duke of York and Mr Carlos rush to her side.

Perhaps Their Majesties do not care for their daughter as much as one would expect. After all, she was a Crawley until recently. Princess Elizabeth may love her childhood home so much that she fell ill to stay there. A source close to the Royal Family claims that the Crawleys and Windsors cannot stand each other. The Princess of Wales finds her loyalties divided, and it appears as if she'd do anything to stay with both.

Allen tossed the paper aside and went to put on his uniform. Thomas leant against the wardrobe.

"Are you all right?" Thomas inquired.

"Turner's an idiot," Allen replied. "Within a few hours, hundreds of reporters may fill these grounds. And we only have four guards."

"What will you do?"

"I'm going to make sure Their Highnesses are aware of the situation and ask for more guards to come up."

Allen attempted to fix his ruffled hair and then went to grab his shoes.
