"Mary and I are going down to the village to look at some of the houses," Tom informed one morning. "Would you like to join us?"

"I think I'll stay here," Robert replied, glaring at his newspaper.

"Is something the matter?"

"That William Turner wrote an article about how Darrel and the Duke of Dulverton are the best of friends. Although it did not seem that way when they were here."

"Reporters never include much truth in their articles. Do not let it bother you."

Robert scowled as he tossed the paper aside.

"Well, I best be off," Tom announced. "We should be back by luncheon."

"I hope that it goes well," Robert nodded.

Tom headed out of the dining room, leaving Lord Grantham with feelings of confusion. He never gave much thought to the articles about the monarchy. Although now that they were about his daughter, they bothered him more.

"Who is Perseus Chadwick, the new close friend of the Princess of Wales?" Sebastian read as he paced around David's office.

"The more you read it, the more upset you shall be," David warned.

"'The princess and I get along marvellously,' Dulverton said in an interview. 'And I recently had the joy of spending time with her fiancé; Mr Carlos.' This man is an idiot!"

"Yes, I agree. But he's trying to bait you into doing something stupid. Don't let him."

"Did you read it?!"

"Yes. I admit that it's upsetting. But it is not out of character for Chadwick. He gave a similar article to a reporter many years ago when we went to school together."

"And what happened?"

"Nothing. I continued to ignore him, and he is an arrogant sod."

"You are not helpful."

David shrugged but did not appear apologetic whatsoever. Sebastian rolled his eyes and marched out of the office to check on Darrel. David let out an annoyed sigh, unsure of what to do. Part of him wanted to join his brother-in-law in badmouthing Perseus. However, he also knew that if could not keep Sebastian calm, they would both go over and fight Chadwick.

A few minutes later, Sebastian sat next to Darrel, letting her rest her head on his shoulder. She woke up a few minutes ago and was in the middle of reading the article.

"Mr Turner is starting to get on my nerves," Darrel declared as she finished.

"But at least now we know that Chadwick spoke to Turner the first time," Sebastian shrugged.
