"Did you see who just arrived?" Daisy exclaimed, racing into the kitchens.

"No," Mrs Patmore replied. "Unlike you, I'm working!"

The assistant cook ignored the comment and continued, "It's the Duke of York."

Allen, who was in the middle of annoying Thomas by stealing food off one of the trays, looked up.

"Are you sure, Daisy?" The guard gasped.

"Yes," Daisy nodded. "A cab pulled up, and His Highness got out followed by a guard."

Allen furrowed his brow and headed towards the servants' entrance.

"Why would His Highness arrive without warning?" Thomas inquired, as he followed the guard.

"I don't know," Allen replied. "But we are about to find out. Although, I fear I am not going to like the reason."

Thomas nodded as they entered the servants' courtyard.

When they arrived at the front door, David was in the middle of talking to Benjamin. Robert stood off to the side, unhappy at the Duke of York's decision to ignore him.

"Where is my sister?" David demanded. "I haven't heard from her in a week!"

"Everything is under control, Your Highness," Benjamin assured.

"Rubbish! I'm assuming that Chadwick is still here, meaning something is going on."

Upon seeing the princess' Head Royal Bodyguard, Benjamin stepped back into the house. Allen sunk into a bow as the Duke of York approached him.

"Good morning, Your Highness," Allen bowed."

"Allen, tell me what happened," David demanded.

"Well, I am afraid there was a bit of an accident, sir."

"Accident? What sort of accident?"

"During a ride with His Grace, Her Highness fell off her horse. She's all right, but the doctor told her to stay in bed."

"You call that all right? She fell off her horse and is now stuck in bed! And I'm assuming that Chadwick's still here."

"Yes, sir."

"Bring me to her at once."

"Yes, sir."

Allen bowed and lead the duke towards the front door. Thomas jogged ahead to open the door for them.

David burst into his sister's bedroom, followed by Allen and Thomas. Isobel looked up from the paper as Darrel stirred from her sleep.
