"Are you sure you have to get back to London?" Thomas sighed, placing his head on Allen's shoulder.

"You know that we have to," Allen replied. "We've been at Downton for a little over a month. And with Turner's article, we need to return to the Palace."

Thomas rolled his eyes and took another swig from the bottle of wine. The night before Darrel's return to London, Allen decided to spend it with Thomas instead of sleeping. They sat on the floor in Thomas' office, passing drinks between them.

"I don't want you to go!" Thomas whined.

"Stop complaining," Allen ordered. "It's all you've said for the past few hours. Now change the subject or I'm going to bed."

"Fine..."

Thomas smirked and grabbed the bodyguard's head in his hands. He leant forward and kissed him.

"Is that better?" Thomas inquired.

"Definitely," Allen nodded. "Thank you."

"Any time. And I know that it's been a stressful time, but I loved having you here for so long."

"I know, the one thing that I have to smile about. And I will continue to think about you as Their Majesties sack me."

"They're not going to sack you."

"You don't know that."

"Yes, I do."

"But Lady Darrel fell off of her horse a month ago. Wouldn't they have sacked you by now?"

"Except nobody has any authority over Her Highness. So it's up to the king and queen to dismiss me."

"Don't worry, Allen."

Allen shrugged and wrapped an arm around Thomas' waist.

"You keep me sane," Allen announced.

"It's not easy," Thomas laughed.

Allen gave him a playful glare and pulled him in for a hug. Thomas pushed the guard against the wall and kissed him with passion. They continued to share a passionate moment until they heard a knock on the door. Thomas jumped away as Darrel walked into the office.

"Oh!" Darrel gasped, as she blushed. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were...both in here."

"It's no problem, Your Highness," Allen assured, as he bowed. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"No, thank you. I was hungry and came downstairs to find something in the refrigerator when I saw the light on."

Allen nodded as Thomas attempted to straighten his livery.
