"I'll be honest, that scared me more than anything else in my whole life," Lawrence said. "I never thought that Billy could do that."

John shook his head. "If you knew him fifty years ago, you wouldn't be surprised."

"Speaking of Billy," Eddie tilted his head to listen for Billy's padding footsteps, "where's he right now?"

"Still in my room, crying," said John.

Simon raised a scarlet brow. "That doesn't exactly sound like the Billy I know. You know how insistent he is in making sure that all his friends are okay."

"He's changed a lot over the years." John messed with his fingers. "I almost didn't recognize him when he first found out that I was trapped here and tried to talk to me."

The door slid open. Billy walked in, his head down.

"Ay, Billy!" Eddie grinned. "How's it goin', pal?"

"Where's Dr. Collingwood?" Billy chewed on his claws. The bubbly quality of his voice was gone, and now he was completely serious.

"In the hospital wing. She's still pretty angry at Dr. Logan for bad-mouthing John. I'll go with you if you want." Eddie stood up.

Lawrence turned away. He'd done his best to hide it, but it was painfully obvious to everyone who paid attention that he was still pissed at Billy. Luckily, the sloth seemed to notice and didn't look too keen on staying in the same room as him.

"It's okay, I'll go alone."
