Chapter 55: Interrogation

Lawrence gave Simon a confused look. "Why?"

"You'll know once I tell you."

Lawrence gulped. He got along just fine with the rest of the SCPs, but Simon rarely spoke to him and never seemed to be quite comfortable when he and Molly were in the same room.

Simon led him to an empty room, well away from everyone else. Once the door was shut behind them, Simon stood in front of it.

"Alright, now listen closely. I know that you and Molly are in a relationship, and there isn't anything inherently wrong with that. I acknowledge that she is an adult and that she can make her own decisions. But I want to ask you a few questions. I want you to tell me the honest answer, not what you think I want to hear."

Oh no. Oh no, no, no.

Simon began asking him questions. Not a few, a lot. Lots and lots and lots of questions. Why he loved Molly, when and how he'd realized his feelings, if he'd ever done anything that made her uncomfortable, and on and on and on. Once the hulking scarlet beast had finished his questioning Lawrence felt like he'd had all his secrets ripped right out of his mind and put on display for all the world to see.

Suddenly Simon grabbed him by the collar and slammed him into the wall. He was soon face-to-face with the hundreds of razor-sharp fangs in Simon's jaws.

"Listen very carefully, Agent Lawrence." Simon wasn't growling, but his voice was stone cold with a deadly undertone. "Break Molly's heart, and you won't live long enough to regret it. Understood?"

Lawrence forced his voice to be as steady as he could make it, but some of his fear still slipped through. "U-understood. Molly means everything to me. I'd never hurt her."

"Good." Simon released him, but still didn't move away. His voice softened. "I know you're not lying to me, so thank you for being truthful."

"U-Um..."

"You've got some steel balls on ya, kid. Don't use them to knock up Molly until you've married her, alright?"

"A-Alright."

Simon turned and left, leaving Lawrence alone.
