"John, wait!"

Dr. Collingwood ran after John and ended up following him all the way back to his cell. The door had been torn down and John was curled up in the corner of his cell.

She cautiously stepped in. "John?"

The guilt in his voice made her want to run over and give him a hug. "Leave me alone."

A crackle made her turn. Billy was standing in the doorway.

"Come on, Johnny Boy, you said you wanted to talk to her," he said softly.

John sighed and turned around. He didn't get up though, and his head was still on his knees.

"Dr. Collingwood, I... I-I'm sorry."

"Sorry... for what?"

"Punching you in the jaw."

"It's fine, it's fine. I know you weren't trying to hurt me."

John mumbled something unclear.

She cocked her head. "What did you say?"

"Nothing, it's just..."

"It's just what?"

John's head shot up. "It's nothing!" he snapped at her. He quickly sobered, putting his head back down. "Sorry."

She shook her head. "Don't worry. It's okay to be upset."

Billy stepped into the cell. "John-"

"Leave me alone," John said quietly. "I don't want to be around anyone."

Billy sighed. "Alright then."

The sloth put a firm hand on Dr. Collingwood's shoulder and steered her out of the cell.
