Kore

"Are you sure this is the dress you want me to wear?" Zeus and I walked hand in hand to the dining room for Aides' dinner party. I was wearing a rather revealing outfit. A bright pink silk dress with a painfully daring neckline. It was what was expected of Hera. She was the goddess of beauty, grace, and charm so all eyes must be on her.

"I mean you could change into something more ...conservative?" He sounded as if he was chewing nails.

"Can I god of Thunder? It looks as if you gave me no choice" I mumbled hatefully. He smirked, taking a heaping glance at my bosoms.

"You reek of lust by the way." I snatch my hand away, holding a palm over my chest to conserve whatever was left of my dignity. "You fuc*ed Eris yet?"
I lean over to take a whiff of his aura, "3x? So I smell" I smirked, rolling my eyes in annoyance.

"You have a special nose Kore"

"Shut up!" I snapped pushing his body away. He purposely said my name a little too loud. He let a lazy chuckle slip out, watching me carefully.

"Humor me" I say, twiddling my thumbs.

"Mmmhhh?"

"How does Hera act? I feel like I've been so emotional and not so ...convincing?"

"Really? You've been doing so well!" He lies with fake approval. I snap both my fingers to shock his chest with my powers.

"Ouch!!" He jumps, holding his chest in pain. "Hera would never do that, especially to me"

"Good to know" I giggle, pushing my hands behind my back. "Okay? What else?"

"Well first..." He looks me up and down, "Hera is a flirt but she's not cheap" he turns and pulls up the opening of my dress, closing my display of cleavage.

"She thinks the world revolves around her but pretends to be shocked when it does.."

"Okay. Anything else before we go in?" I try my hardest to hold my cleavage. We both halt at the tall iron doors that separated us from the dinner.

"Smile."

"Smile?" I asked reluctantly.

"And frown. And don't be so serious but also be mean"
He was purposely being obtuse describing Hera's distinct personality. Of course he wanted to see me fail.

He pushes open the door, scooting me in and walking behind my heel.
"Hello everyone!" Zeus's booming voice vibrates against the walls of the room. There were a few people already seated at the table. They looked miserable, their mouths salivating at the spread of food before them. Aides stood and so did the other men, acknowledging our anticipated arrival.

"Hello, sorry we are late. Hera had to powder her nose to perfection"

I let out a tired breath, looking up at him. Now it was my time to perform.

"Oh Zeus what lies you tell! Please, sit sit everyone! It is just little old me!  Eat! Drink!"
Thé party happily sat and ate, tearing into heaps of venison and bread. I go to the end of the table to Aides and hug him, kissing both cheeks.

"Thank you for throwing this dinner part for me
You know how I adore them Aideoneus!"

"Oh, how smug you are!" Zeus comes between us, grabbing my waist, "you know this dinner wasn't for you Hera; this was a banquet Aides threw for everyone" Zeus interrupts with glee.

Aides only looks at me, his lips frozen in silence. I but my lip carefully, staring into his dark, mysterious eyes before turning to Zeus.

"What lies you tell Zeus. It was for me" I shrugged sticking out my tounge. I push past him, waiting for someone to pull out my chair. Some random guy left from the other side of the long table and ran to pull out my seat, pushing me in as if it was his duty.

Aides takes his seat at a chair across the table before carefully pulling up his chalice of wine, his eyes were still glued to my figure.

Was he assessing my character? I was acting differently than when I first saw him earlier today. Maybe his mind had been made up? Maybe he has truly convinced himself that I was truly Hera. Gone was any shred of hope for his forgotten love.

Zeus piled his plate high full of meats and assorted fruits, scarfing down everything in sight.

I take a plate from the middle and pile up a heaping serving of mutin and kombutan, a sweet fruit whose seeds were rare to find.

"Ahh! ahh! ahh! Hera doesn't eat" Zeus whispers, pushing my spoon away from my lips. My stomach revealed it's tribal calls as I took a whiff of the sweet-smelling fruit. It growled the instant he deprived me.
"Hera has a figure to maintain" he was being plain cruel now.

"But...but"

"Aht! Aht! No buts wife. You insisted. Remember in the room, you said I should refuse you sustenance so you could fit into your wedding dress."

I tried to kick his foot beneath the table but he swiftly grabbed my thigh, preventing the blow. He was a devil incarnate.

"Oh what a time this is! You are all sitting here and I'm just watching you eat! What a pity!"

"But Hera, your figure is so slim!" One patron boasts.
"And we'll maintained!" Another woman sings her praises.
I pretend to blush, pushing a palm to my chin.
"Sacrificing food might be wonderful. And you can fit into your beautiful gown!" Another god yelled triumphantly, trying his hardest to turn my mood into a sweeter one.

"Yes, and you do know I like it when you fill out your dresses" Zeus pulls me into his hairy chest, "I love seeing your perky little as*" he whispers, pulling my chin before kissing me violently.

Aides sees our display and stands, shooting from his chair. "Excuse me" he sounded enraged, storming away from the dining room.

I hit Zeus off, wiping my mouth clean before pouring the rest of my wine atop his head.
"Don't EVER kiss me again" I seethed, throwing my cup to the floor before adjusting the dress he had wrinkled. He smirked evilly, still picking into his food.

The table looked confused as to why Hera, Zeus's beloved wife, would be so repulsed by his affection.

Great. I had to think of a way to get out of this.
"Zeus! Now, look at what you've done! You have my cheeks red and my neck warm. You know I hate it when you kiss me in front of people.
If not for you all, he would take me and do it on the table" I tried my hardest to laugh and make the situation light.

The people were nervous but they chuckled along, trying to ignore what occurred. Maybe the wine was a bit too much?

I pouted, crossing my arms and looking at Zeus, blaming him for my anger. "I can't eat.
I can't sit without you touching me and now my banquet is ruined"

"Not your banquet" Zeus muttered beneath a tired breath.

"I'm leaving!!" I fumed, shooting from my chair. I wished to be anyplace but here, next to Zeus.

"Hera please!"
"Don't go! Stay!" The dirties at the table we're relentless to appease me.

"You made me mad Zeus.
Goodnight everyone. If you will excuse me" I lifted my dress and stormed out of the room, eager to go find Aides.
