I wake up the next day and see the familiar darkness I was forced to know. I place my feet onto the cold floor and dash to see the status of the door .

"Locked!" I curse beneath a whisper. I knew I was destined to never leave this place.

Two dresses hanged by the wardrobe catch my attention and I walk inspect it; of course each left little to the imagination. Begrudgingly, I chose the one on the left and quickly slip it on, adjusting myself in the mirror.

The same demon from yesterday entered my room to prepare me for the day. Inspiration struck and I shoot past her, charging at the open door.

"My godess! Please come back!!" she begged, seeing my forced escape. I ignored her pleas and ran past the stone corridors of the castle. I paused in the middle of the hallway and concealed behind a curtain near a dark passage. A group of guards formed a barrier against the exit of the palace as I peek around the corner. I needed to formulate a plan of escape but I knew my only chance was to beg the king for freedom.

——

I walk with a false confidence as I approach the royal quarters. Three guards stood at command at the start of the wing as I approached.

"Your business?" one guard blurted.

"Umm... I am Kore. The king requested for my...presence" I lie unconvincingly, making sure to adjust the slit in my dress.

"He's busy" he shooed me away.

"He said it was urgent" I lie, "he probably had a need to fulfill?" I hint, adjusting the dip in my chest.

They ignored me, unwilling to address my problem.

"I demand to see the king!" I announced defiantly.

"Like I said, he is busy your goddess!" his tall partner retorted, making sure to prohibit my intrusion.

The demon responsible for my control screamed for me in the distance. "Kore! Come back"

"I do not care! I demand he see me!" I yell and storm past them to find his room. Two flags float across a room with the crest of a dark flame. I knew it was his his room.

"You cannot go in there!" The soilders yelled, trying to restrain my arms, but I ignore them and kick open the door to enter his room. As I bardged in, I see him dressed in only a towel.

Embarrassment entered my heart as I look at his toned physique; it had not other purpose than to invade my eyes. Fresh droplets of water dripped down his rippling posterior. Getting a closer look in the light of the underworld proved advantageous.

He was every bit of man.

He turns to me with a frown, wondering who dared interrupt his peace. He sighed once his eyes landed on mine and pouted disapprovingly. "I haven't even had the chance to dress, yet you insist on barging in?" he fumed, pulling the rest of his top onto his sculpted chest.
