Eris POV
In the last chapter, Kore used the cloak of invisibility to follow Hera into Eris's room."Eris! What do you think you're doing!"
I refused to face the voice.
I already knew it was her.
I was surprised at Hera's sense of urgency however. I thought she would be calm seeing the sword? It was the very one used to conspire to kill Kore."What does it look like I'm doing Hera.
I'm tying the sword of elesium to my thigh" I pout, tugging at the rope as it refused to stay."I told you to get rid of it! Do you understand the power it yields if it gets into the wrong hands?"
I tried to bite away my smile. Did she not understand that the very hands in which she was warning of were mine?
I had failed to include Hera in the inspiration of my plan."I do understand Hera." I cackled smoothing my dress down. I went to the mirror, touching up my lips before smoothing the bulge that showed from the sword. "I Hate to break it to you, but my hands were wrong since the night I tried to kill Kore. You were so consumed with ending the flower girl you failed to neglect my motives"
Hera stood back, clutching her chest in shock. Killing Aides was not part of her plan.
"Eris...I begged you! I refused it. I told you not not touch him!""And I didn't take heed.
Look Hera. He's miserable! I could get rid of him, take the throne with no distractions. It's easy. Let me be the Queen you know I can be!"Kore (concealed and using cloak of invisibility)
I pushed my palms over my mouth to stifle a gasp. Clarity; it hit me like a ton of bricks.
So it was true!
Eris and Hera conspired together to rid me of my life. The confession was here! But how could I tell Aides before the wedding?Realization filled Hera's features before her eyebrows furrowed in anger.
"You are mad with power!" Hera shouted.
Eris
"Not mad...just drunk" I shrugged, looking over my shoulder to face Hera. I looked so calm talking about death, it scared her.
"Eris... isn't it enough? You for the throne. You have the title.
You get the man. Kore Lost""I did not win....I don't have his heart" I whispered. Hera looked into my eyes before holding my shoulders.
"So unrequited love is the reason you refuse to let my brother live?"
"Exactly" I seethed, pushing her hands off my shoulders. I hated being so vulnerable in front of anybody, especially Hera. That was enough emotion for today.
"You're mad!" Hera cursed.
"Drop the mother of sainthood act. You are just as mad as me."
"No! I am not"
I giggle, pushing a palm to my lip. "You allowed me to take your shape and convince the three fates to give me the sword of Elesium to kill an innocent girl"
Hera was mute. The accuracy of my words stained her with guilt. I walk over to the chest in the room, digging for a sleek and sliver mirror.
"I suggest you look in this mirror. It will help you come to terms with your reality"
Kore
"You won't get away with this...I will not allow it!" Hera steps back to feel the door knob but before she could run to war Aides, Eris lifts her fingers and recited a indistinguishable enchantment.
"Hague Zianbapghy!
Haste Leme Cou
Knimbokxet!!""Eris no!" Hera shouts, lifting up her hands to block her spell but it was too late!
"Stop! HELP!" Hera shouted but a row of sharp green chains lined the air. It snapped towards Hera, binding her hands and feet.
Another row zipped around her neck. The chains were excessive, engulfing Hera instantly as she stood stagnant!"Eris! You won't get away with this!" Hera fumed, trying to wiggle free.
"Aww, you didn't even wish me luck at my wedding" Eris giggled. She pointed a finger towards the sky, he lifting Hera into the air and tying her to a brown chair across the room.
So Hera wasn't in on the killing of Aides?
"Good bye friend! I'll tell Zeus to come untie you after I kill Aides" Eris patted the curls on Hera's head before skipping out the room.
I fumed watching Eris as she smugly left for the wedding.
Months! I hadn't seen him.
For months I had been deprived of his touch.
His warmth.
His passion. How dare this insignificant, heinous goddess take him away from me! I wouldn't allow it.
Anger.
No, RAGE consumed my core as I thought of the plan ahead.
But I must not be brash!
Being so quick to react had not proved useful in the past. I must be calm and conceal my feelings.
I must use the cloak to my advantage.I must warn him before the wedding bells rang.
"HMMMMM🎵🎵🎵"
Oh no!
I hear the brassy sounds of the organ ring again.
The wedding march was starting.
I was too late!!
