KoreZeus entered in the room. "Sorry I'm late brother! My wife decided to pop in unexpectedly for the wedding" He teased, throwing him a knowing glance.
"Shut up Zeus!" Hera snapped, forcing her way into the room. She took in a judging glance, disapprovingly eyeing the room. You could tell she rather be anywhere but here. "Awww Aides, you look so divine!" she smiled into the mirror, assessing his reflection. Hera never paid someone a "compliment" unless she pitied you. She knew what she was doing
"The people have been waiting Aides" Zeus advised.
"Let them" Aides cursed, continuing on with his rouge of disapproval. Everyone knew he had been dreading the upcoming nuptials.
"Come on brother" Zeus walks over to playfully squeeze his shoulders, "It will be over before you know it! Then happily ever after."
"Yea....sure" Aides muttered, still looking at his reflection in the mirror. He tried to asses the room to search for me but stopped his quest, fearing it would make him too suspicious.
Zeus looked concern for the first time I ever. He looked into Aides eyes and frowned.
"Aides. I have grown to know Eris and she is not that—"—CRASH—
"Shoot!" I accidentally crashed in a black vase that crashed to the floor.
All three of them turn their heads to the noise.
"What was that..." Zeus asks, turning to the shattered glass. Aides gives Zeus a knowing glance, praying he caught on.
Hera walks over to observe the glass that was scattered on the floor. I carefully tiptoe to the other side of the room, making sure to avoid any potential interaction with the furniture in the room.
"That the strangest thing ever? A vase suddenly crashing to the floor?" Hera squints, standing straight to observe the room.
Before she could use any of her powers to reveal the truth, Aides intercepted.
"Hera? Can you tie my armor? You do it better than my brother"
"But that noise?" She squinted suspiciously, "and the vase?"
"I'll tie it Aides. It seems Hera is too preoccupied with the unending doom a broken vase can bring" he teased."You bore me. Zeus" Hera lifted a perfectly manicured hand to her face. "Aides, you too and I cannot relish in your sadness because you seem a bit...happy" she smirked.
"I will make sure to express more melancholy so it may suit your liking Hera"Aides mutters. I didn't want to hold back my giggle but I must.
A fake laugh escapes her lips before she stands to leave the room. "I will go find with Eris. Surely she must be more entertains than you two" she scoffs, storming out the room.Perfect!
I would follow Hera out the room and listen to her conversation between her and Eris! Maybe they would reveal the true events of the night I was banished?
Why didn't I think of the this before?
I try to run after her without bumping into Zeus or Aides. I only had a few seconds before the door closed again.
I slipped through it perfectly, having only my gown caught in the slit of the door. I tugged it it carelessly, yanking it out its trap before trailing Hera's heel.
I must sneak into that room! And fast.—-
Hera's steps were purposeful; her walk impactful as she glided through the hallway. She was a woman on a mission, making sure everyone heeded her presence. It was unmistakable; demanding.
She eventually finds Eris's room. As soon as she opened the door, I slipped in, making sure I avoided trailing too close. I wouldn't want to alert her to my presence.
"Eris!" Hera gasped, swiftly shutting the door behind her. I pondered the reason for her horrified expression but quickly stifled my own gasp as I saw the scene before me.
I see Eris hunched over a chair. One leg was perched against its seat. She was tucking a long green dagger against the inside of her thigh. It was...
"The sword of Elesium!" Hera fumed.
Eris looked up at Hera and smirked.
"I thought I told you to give me a minute Hera?"Author Note:
Remember! Eris already met Hera (which was really Kore disguised as Hera.)
