Sorry for the super long update!!!
Kore
Although Aides was upset with me, he would still have his servants come to my room to feed and dress me. Of course I refused them, only demanding to talk to him but another two days passed and Aides refused to come. It was only on the third night of my confinement that he came to visit me.
"Aides" I say his name, standing from my bed to meet him but my heavy chain restricted me. He looked torn and defeated, his eyes were even darker than before.
"Aides...if you would just—-" but my words stopped as he held up his finger, signaling me for silence. I obeyed and looked into his rage filled eyes as they scanned over me.
"You tried to kill me Kore" was all he said, a hint of disappointment was in his voice as if he wished it wasn't the truth....as if he hated himself for uttering the words aloud.
"Aides" I began again.
"Was it not your intention to kill me Kore?!! yes or no?" he yelled, his voice snapping me into silence.
"No...I mean yes...in the beginning it was..." I whispered, peering down to the cobblestone floors that dressed the room. He pushed a hand through his long brown hair before leaning against the wardrobe near the adjacent wall.
"Aides...please if you would just listen to me, I can explain"
"Listen to what! Explain what!!! You tried to kill me KORE! How am I supposed to respond to this?" he yelled even louder. I heard his voice shaking with rage but even then he tried to remain calm. I looked into his eyes with hot tears streaming down my cheeks, trying so hard to not run into his arms for forgiveness. I loved him so much but I wished he would see that...despite my betrayal.
"Aides..." I gasp, trying so hard to find the words to say to the man who owed me nothing. "You took me from my realm. You waited and preyed and stole me from my realm. I hated you for this...I despised you in every moment. After my first month chained to this realm, a room appeared in the south tower and I met the three fates, they told me of my prophecy and how..."
"How what? What did they tell you?" He asked curiously.
"They said if I killed you with the sword of Elesium , I would be free"I whisper turning my head away. I couldn't meet his gaze.
"All I wanted to do was be free Aides" I say, finding the words to make me sound sane. He lifted his head to look into my eyes but continued his silence.
"But as the months passed...my hatred for you...lessened. When you spoke to your people, I saw courage instead of hate. When you rested a palm against my skin I felt a spark of desire instead of despair. And when you kissed me..." I continued, my tears flowing freely, "I was taken to a place where my heart and spirit aligned into a ecstasy of passion. You showed me light when all I saw was darkness Aides. I learned to love you."
He walked over to me, towering over me but refusing to touch my frame. "When I felt my heart and the feelings I had for you...I took the sword and threw it into the lake. I cursed myself for even agreeing to do it in the first place but that sword...it kept following me and stinging skin and paining every fiber of my being. It wouldn't let me be at peace until I killed you Aides" I admitted, trying so hard to refrain from holding him. He still stood at a modest distance.
