Persephone

"Let me go!
Help!!! Helpppp!!" Hera's screams were lethal, rumbling the earth beneath the room.
"ERIS! ERIS! Let me go!!!!!" She shrieked. I made my way towards the exit, determined to reunite with my love and save him from the snares of Eris but before I could slip away, the ring of my helmet snagged on the hook of a burning flame.

"Kore?" Shock laced her voice as my figure was revealed.

No!

She wasn't supposed to see me...not until the completion of my plan?

"Kore! Please! Help me" She pleaded.

Did she forget who she was talking to? I was the very beast she cursed to an eternity of misery.

"Kore! Quick!" she snaps again, this time impatiently as if my assistance was her privilege.

I look at her features and start to giggle, relishing in her misery. I smile as Eris's chains start to tighten around her arms.

"Kore...Kore" she whispers, weakened by the chains tightness.

"You don't deserve my pity Hera.
You deserve nothing from me."

"Surely we can let bygones be...IIIIKK" she yelps, biting her jaw to subside the pain. Her skin turned red. "Please..." she whimpered.

"You despise me.
You hate me, so much, that you concocted a plan to have me killed." Hera looked away refusing to meet my eyes

"You hate me cause I look like him, don't you?
You hate me cause you hate him!" I sneer, grabbing the back of her chair. The chains tightened again, cutting off her circulation. "Maybe I should leave you tied here Hera?"

She was silent. Eris's dark magic was no match for the goddess of light and beauty.

I was tired of doing good and being the goddess to right the wrongs of the underworld.
The old Kore would have stayed and helped Hera, but I was Kore no more.
Persephone had seized whatever was left of Kore.

I gather my dress and run to the door to warn Aides. I did not care if Hera died. She deserved it.

"I am sure you heard my confession from earlier? I was responsible for your banishment. If I die, only Eris will know the truth"

"I have the three fates. I do not need you"

"You rely on those stupid pests?" she sighed. My palm wavered against the handle of the door as I contemplated Hera's words.

I had a decision to make:
Stay and help Hera break free or run to the cathedral and warn Aides of Eris's trickery?

____

I run towards the wedding room, with my helmet in tow, eager to warn Aides.

I had so much to do but first, I must find the three fates!

Silently, I tiptoe and push my back against the stone wall. I must be silent as a mouse. Although I was invisible, any sudden noise would expose me in an instant. I looked at the highest base of the room and saw the three witches positioned in the archways of the cathedral.

My plan was to give them a signal to start their brew. The brew would display images of the night of Erie's betrayal and deceit tor he kingdom. It must be at the perfect moment, right before the officiant asked the fated question.

However, there was only one issue with the plan: a recent development that was not discussed prior.
The fates were not aware of my helmet of invisibility!

They could not see me!
How would I give them the signal if I was invisible to the world.

"Now if there is anyone who objects, speak now--" The officiant's words rang through the dim cathedral, striking my core with utter hopelessness.

I was too late. I could not warn Aides nor could I signal the three fates!

"Or forever hold your peace!" Silence filled the room of deities. Of course, no one would object. Why would they?

"No one?" The officiant yelled, making sure there were no objections.

"I now declare--"

"Stopppppp!!!"

A loud bang sounded through the hall as the wooden doors of the cathedral burst open. Hera's slender silhouette stood at the opening. All eyes were now on her.

Eris seethed once she took in the figure, wondering the course of action used for her to gain freedom. She wanted to scream but had to contain her fury, lest she be guilty.

"Hera... what is the meaning of this!" Aides asked. He was not aware of Hera's involvement in the plan but knew to play along.

Eveyone in the room was distracted.

Great!

Now was my chance to dash upstairs and signal the fates.
