"Oh my God... It really is you. Hoseok?"
The said male turned his head to the voice in surprise. It had been a long while. Two years?
"Seokjin?"
Jin, clad in a button-down and slacks, hair placed just right, winced down at Hoseok, who's appearance was quite the opposite. "God, you look awful. But man am I glad to see you. So glad." Jin broke out into a smile, eyes upturning with delight.
Hoseok sat up slowly, as not to reinjure himself. The sight of Jin was one that he surprisingly found himself not wanting to turn away like the rest. And Jin's smile was so bright, not filled with sympathy as if Hoseok was just so pitiful lying there on that bed after his disappearance like everyone else's smile was.
Hoseok was alone in his experience now. Jin had always been understanding when they were kids.
Jin dove in for a loose hug, careful of his boundaries and potential pain.
"God, where have you been? I can't believe you're back- it's a miracle! Tell me everything! Uh -unless... you don't want to talk about it. I get it. It must've been hell wherever you were..." Jin shook his head in disbelief, expression soft and understanding.
"No... no," Hoseok gathered himself a fond smile. "It wasn't hell. There was a lot of bad... but there was so much good too. That I wouldn't trade."
Jin's eyes went round. "Oh no. Don't tell me you caught-" he brought his voice down to a whisper and leaned in, as if it was a terrible curse,"- Stockholm syndrome!"
Hoseok could help but let out a small, weak snicker. "No... no. I... left. No one took me. I left."
Jin narrowed his eyes. "You mean to tell me that you just... 'took a vacation,' if you will. Just left-- the country, apparently, because they looked for you everywhere, I assume-- and you...decided to just come back randomly with a stab wound, all these scars- huah!" Jin gasped, coiling back. "Look at your face! Little nicks and scratches! And your skin! The texture...the tan...It's like you've been out in the fields with the farmers! When's the last time you moisturized?!"
