Everyone was present for the main ceremony, even the king, as it was a wedding of two nobles, high class in society. The rest of the wedding, however, took place in the woods like Yoongi had said. The king had retired at this point and so did the people's formalities. There was wild dancing and singing along the fire, a feast over it-- soju and a selection of wine, of course. It seemed like a celebration for the whole village rather than for the actual bride and groom, who were arranged into the marriage not for love, but for the benefit of their families.
Most of them were much too drunk, especially Taehyung, who Hoseok soon saw to be very much a lightweight, therefore, they paid no mind to babysitting Hoseok.
"I'm listening to you! I'm just not paying attention!" Taehyung shouted at Namjoon who was attempting to have a serious conversation with him.
Hoseok had found himself wandering the outskirts of the festival, far from the center of attention where he was not welcome. There, he spotted the peasant boy, Jimin, amongst the outliers of the crowd, watching the people dance by the fire.
He'd never been to a party before. Even in his own time. Never had much to drink before either unless Amy brought it home once in a while or when they were at dinner for a special reason. It wasn't that he was a prude or anything, he just didn't want to disappoint his parents and so the habit of not finding going all that interesting stuck with him.
"Hi, friend." Jimin smiled up at Hoseok who had decided to sit next to him. Hoseok had been carrying two drinks he had intended for himself, though handed one to Jimin instead. He smiled at the new title.
'Friend.'
"Hey," Hoseok answered him with drained emotion, though managed a smile of course. "Why aren't you out there enjoying yourself like the rest of them?"
Jimin, took the cup of soju, downing it rather quickly, taking Hoseok by surprise.
Jimin sighed. "Oh I'm just not in the mood tonight. What about you?"
'what do you think, Jimin...'
Hoseok shook his head, a light smile on his face. "I feel a little out of place in all this." He took a large swig of the stuff. It sure was quite different from what he knows, quite bitter and nasty, but he needed the drink, well the third drink.
