"Your Majesty, doctor Jung Hoseok."
Hoseok bowed low for the king. Yoongi had stepped outside after leading him inside to give him some space.
He watched as one of the princes left the room in a huff, appearing as though him and his father, the king, were disagreeing.
"What is it you need, Physician Jung?" the king asked in a fake tone that covered his previous frustration.
Hoseok fidgeted with his hands and glanced back at the doorway where Yoongi stood leaning against the wall, looking up at the sky.
It was early morning now, and Hoseok had caught up to him in the courtyard where he knew Hoseok would be wanting an audience with the king as soon as possible.
"Your majesty. I have some news regarding my visit with State councilor Han Jungwoo."
The king gave a pleased smile. "Ah yes, I heard he was free of the plague."
"That isn't all, your majesty. It is the Qing. They have gained influence within the state."
The room was silent for a while. Hoseok had finally worked up the courage to flicker his eyes up at the king to see a deep frown on his face.
"I see."
'He believes me?'
"It seems they are getting anxious, your majesty. While we were travelling back, we also heard word of a Ming general on his way to-"
He was interrupted by the clanging of metal and one of the servants running in front of him towards the king.
"Advising General Huang Sunwu of the Ming court, your majesty."
Hoseok clenched his jaw at the unfortunate timing, but perhaps he could talk some sense into the king.
"If that is all, doctor, I'm afraid, as you can see, there are other matters I must address."
Hoseok bowed and turned, sparing a glance to the Ming general in his red lined uniform before exiting the throne room.
