For Hoseok, the nearly two weeks he'd been trapped in Joseon Korea, the same amount of time had passed for Amy as well. She had cried herself to sleep most nights worrying for him. Her mind so badly had wanted to give in to what the police officer had told her, that it was possible he just... left her there. That maybe he purposefully shut his phone off and wasn't answering his calls from her.
No.
Ignore his family too?
No way.
She was holding onto the possibility that he had been taken, kidnapped, for some reason. Not that that was a better reason. Or perhaps it was to her. To her own self pride that her lover hadn't chosen to leave her.
"Did he seem happy?" The officer had asked her.
"Yes, well, some things were tough on him, but Hoseok- he always looks at the positive, tries to make the best of things...?" She reasoned., the answer sounding more like a question.
Although he never showed it, there were times when Hoseok would just break after keeping that mask on for so long, bottling up all those emotions for the benefit of others and for the benefit of himself, he'd often reasoned.
She'd seen it only a few times, but Hoseok was... fine. He was fine.
"Have you considered that maybe he got tired of putting on a positive face all the time?" the officer had asked her challengingly. "Sometimes we think we know a person, but we don't know them at all, only a small part."
He shook her head. "No, Hoseok wouldn't do that. He's a good person. He's missing an- and in trouble, I know it."
It seemed like she was the only one who was doing anything about it, though.

Today was the last day Yoongi and his party of five, now six, including Hoseok, had to prepare before going out on the road as the king had requested of them.
