The next day dragged on. One patient after the next. Hoseok had performed a surgery on a boy who had been nailed in the ear by another child in the village. The nail had clipped a bit of his ear off, the poor kid, so Hoseok had to clean and stitch the wound up while the poor boy cried and his mother scolded him to be a big tough man.
'Bitch if you don't quit with that man up shit, I'll give you a reason to need surgery too,' Hoseok thought, lip snarled up in disgust as he listened to her degrading words.
Hoseok never cared for that mindset. He didn't believe in certain things that were socially qualified to make a man. He was a man by his own standard and nothing could change that.
Whether he'd rather let his girlfriend kill the spider once in a while, since his mother terrified him as a child and most likely caused a phobia in him, or let his girlfriend be the one to drive or pay once in a while, cry in front of her if he felt the need, kiss her unafraid in public, even wear light makeup and take care of his skin. It didn't make him less of a man. And if Amy was a man as well, Hoseok would do all those same things as well, and that wouldn't make him any less of a man either.
Two more patients came in, one for a strange bite and the other just to insult Hoseok for being a Qing spy who was here to take his kingdom away, whom the guards had to escort out. It wasn't the first time it'd happen, but it did wear on a person.
...And another day.
At this point, Hoseok felt like a zombie still walking on, repeating the same thing everyday. He thought of running away again as a joke.
'Maybe I could pretend I'm needed elsewhere. Maybe even Namhansanseong. HA!'
'Or I could just get a horse and take off.' it seemed like everytime he thought of it, it was just funny to him at this point.
Although his leg was doing better, it still wasn't 100%. If he'd try to escape, it needs to be when he's fully capable to do so. His chances aren't unlimited. There's also the possibility that General Dongjun could somehow sniff him out again. And once he did, Yoongi wouldn't be there to save him.
