Hoseok stared down the dread palace gates, within its walls he once lived. The place seemed more guarded now, filled with strange characters lined up to go in, guards of all kinds pushing them out. It might be tricky to get it, to say the least.

He glanced back at Jin close behind him, meeting his fearful eyes.

They had just barely got into the city, managing to sneak in through the wheat fields of someone's farm and into the village from Mapo. The farmer chased them, yes, but they were faster. The main road entrances had been recording who goes in and out. After the unsettling environment, perhaps it was best that Hoseok stayed dead for now.

He already began to feel the stares on him from the passing villagers.

"God, you stink," Hoseok muttered to Jin behind him.

"I wonder whose fault that is," Jin snapped back at him.

Hoseok took a deep breath, studying the gates one more time, and took Jin's forearm. "Okay. We gotta get in there. I don't know if this is going to work. I mean, surely the King would see me after everything. But-"

Jin caught sight of a stranger lurking swiftly down the alley they were looking from, hooded and advancing towards Hoseok specifically. Jin tapped Hosek's shoulder hurriedly. "Woah, who is- hey!"

Hoseok felt a hand on his shoulder abruptly yanking him further into the alley. He turned, drawing his gold-encrusted sword at the hooded stranger. Said intruder removed the veil quickly with his hands up, mouth parted open and kind eyes upturned pleasantly at Hoseok.

Hoseok loosened his grip on his sword instantly.

"Jimin!"

The aforementioned beamed at Hoseok, and tackled him in a hug, squeezing him so tightly that Hoseok felt the bones in his back pop. Hoseok collided into the wall behind him from Jimin's force, nearly falling, and held onto Jimin in both support and relief.

"Jimin?" he heard Jin utter to himself in disbelief. "This is... Jimin..?"

"I knew you were alive. I knew it. I felt it," Jimin uttered in Hoseok's ear, his voice a bit unsteady.
