"My baby is coming home to me! Of course I'm happy! You are...still coming? My dear boy, please tell me yes!" Hoseok's mom screeched through the phone. He winced, cringing at her voice and pulling it away from his now ringing ear.

Hoseok was living in the United States now. Had been for almost 3 years. At last, he'd about to come home, back to Korea. Well, for a short while. On vacation with his girlfriend. And of course, she'd be meeting his parents, but Hoseok and her had known each other almost as long as Hoseok's feet had touched American soil. It was inevitable they'd all meet.

Hoseok had decided all those years ago, when it came time for college, that he needed a change, and so, he studied English extensively throughout high school and hopped on a plane rather impulsive one day for L.A., California where he settled down and went to university. There, he studied as a Veterinarian and just happened to meet a nice Korean-American girl named Amy who understood him more than most there and made him feel just a little bit less alone.

His life wasn't perfect. Of course not. But, was anyone's? He was... happy. He was content and that's what mattered.

"Yes, mom..." Hoseok dragged on while using one hand to pack his clothes.

They were leaving tomorrow morning and, of course, he'd waited until the last minute to start doing anything about it.

"OH! Are you bringing what's-her-name? Ah-mee?" His mother asked hopefully, butchering the short English name. Perhaps it was purposeful. That was quite something that his mother would do.

Hoseok smiled, hiding his snicker so as not to set her off at him for laughing disrespectfully.

"It's Amy, Mom...but yes I'll be bringing her too. She's only been to Korea a few times, but she's been doing research on her ancestry lately. Her dad was Korean, but he died when she was young. So she wanted to learn, you know? See some of the sights as well, of course. You know, temples and parks and everything."

He haphazardly threw a few of the small conditioners and soaps in travel size they bought recently into the suitcase and paced the room as his mother continued to shout in his ear.
