Amy had cried all that night in his childhood home as she returned alone, worried sick that something terrible had happened to him. That nothing less than terrible was bound to have happened. He wasn't home when she arrived and nor would he just leave her like that. She knew of Hoseok's nature, unfaltering kindness, and the loving person that he was. Something was seriously wrong.

"I'd like to report a missing person."

"What's the name?"

"Jung Hoseok."

"How old?"

"22." She fiddled with her hands uncomfortably. She always hated police stations no matter where they were. Always fearing she would suddenly be accused of a crime she didn't commit.

"When and where was the last place you saw him?" the officer asked her flatly.

"Um, yesterday. We were at Namhansanseong. The fortress. We separated for an hour... to do different things... and I told him to meet me back." She caught a light reflection of herself in the glass and cringed at the sight.

The officer nodded. She noticed the way he suppressed a smile that bore no warmth.

"Is there something... amusing?" she asked with agitation at his inappropriate expression.

"Ma'am. Have you considered that maybe... he stood you up? Or left to go, I don't know, visit friends or meet someone else? You can't just file a report here on a grown man missing for a few hours."

Amy glared at him. " Hoseok wouldn't do that. And- and his phone is out. Calls won't go through." She began to rummage through her purse, looking for her phone to prove it.

"Has he had a past history of drug or alcohol abuse?"

Amy stopped to dart her eyes back up at him, disdain in her eyes. Hoseok didn't even care for alcohol. She didn't even bother answering and instead chose to glare at him until he cleared his throat and pulled out a form from a shelf on the nearby desk.

He nodded again. "I'll put in a report, but don't think too much of it. I'm sure you'll hear from him soon."
