Ch 27

Maria carol and alex were spending the day together when Carol's phone starts to ring

Carol: "sorry let me answer that really quick"

She gets up and walks out of the room to answer the call.

Carol: "i have to go on a mission sorry love"

Alex: "Wait what. N-no no"

Carol: "i know your scared of me going on missions again but ill be okay i promise"

carol kisses alex goodbye

Alex: "see you when you get back"

Carol: "love you"

Carol leaves

Maria: "she will be okay alex"

During the mission

Carol: "this area is cl-"

She hears crying

Carol: "where is that coming from?"

Wanda: "is that area clear"

Carol: "no hold on... i think there is a kid in this collapsed building"

Nat: "do you need help?"

Carol: "no im fine. Keep looking in your areas for anyone"

Carol walks around the ruins of a collapsed building

Carol: "what is that?"

She rushes over to the area

Carol lifts up a heavy wall. Underneath was a littel girl! Carol pushes the wall to the floor and rushes over to the little girl

Carol: "hey hey it's okay... shh i won't hurt you i promise"

She kneels next to the kid

Carol: "everything is okay"

She extends her hand out and the girl places hers on carol's hand

Carol: "come here"

Carol picks up the kid and rushes back to the quinjet

Nat: "carol are you okay?"

Wanda: "what took so long"

Carol: "i found this kid under some rubble"

Wanda: "oh my god"

Carol places the little kid on one of the benches in the quinjet

Carol, Wanda, and Natasha walk to the opposite side of the quinjet

Nat: "so where are her parents?"

Carol: (whispering)"i assume dead. I couldn't find anyone else but her"

Wanda: "i'll go check one last time"

20 minutes later

Nat: "anything?"

Wanda: "dead..."

Carol: "oh no"

Nat: "what are we going to do with the kid?"

Carol: we should take her to the compound. Maybe bruce can run some tests to see if anything is wrong. Make sure she isn't hurt"

Nat: "i'll set the coordinates back to compound into the computer"

Once they get back

Bruce is about to run test on the little girl

Bruce: "keep her still she might be frighten about this"

Carol: "okay"

He runs test on her

Bruce: "I'll have jarvis analyze them"

Carol: "hey what's your name little one?"

The little girl: "liz-lizzie"

Carol: "well lizzie I'm carol"

Lizzie: "c-carol"

Carol: "yes carol. How old are you?"

lizzie: "s-six"

Carol: "six. That's my favorite number"

Lizzie smiles

Lizzie: "where are my mommy and daddy"

Carol: "Your mommy and daddy are. They were hurt"

Lizzie: "are are they dead?"

Carol: "what no"

Lizzie: "but you said they were dead"

Carol: "what?"

Bruce walks back in

Bruce: "carol can we talk outside"

Carol: "sure"

They walk out to the hallway

Carol; "so what did you find on her?"

Bruce: "she is 6 years old and i think she has powers"

Carol: "what"

Bruce: "i think she can read minds"

Carol: "i, i believe you"

After talking for a bit

Carol: "i got you a stuffed bear"

Lizzie smiles

Lizzie: "i love it"

She smiles

Alex walks down to the medbay area

Alex: "babe are you in here?"

Carol: "i'm right here"

Alex: "you're alright thank god i was worried"

Carol kisses alex

Alex: "how did the mission go?"

Carol: "it was okay. I found this little girl. Her name is lizzie. Lizzie can you say hi to alex"

Lizzie: "h-hi"

Alex: "you have a cute name lizzie"

Lizzie smiles

tony walks down

Tony: "carol. Bruce told me what happened where is this kiddo"

Carol: "This is lizzie. She's the one i found during the mission"

Later

Carol: "Do you want to sleep with us lizzie. They are going to set up a bedroom but that will take some time"

Lizzie nodds

Carol: "okay then"

She picks up lizzie and walks upstairs

Alex: "pepper gave me some of morgans old pjs until we can go shopping"

Lizzie: "are you my new mommy"

Carol looks at alex

Then back at lizzie

Carol: "If you want I can be your new mommy. It is up to you"

Lizzie hugs carol

Lizzie: "I want you too"

Carol hugs lizzie back

Lizzie the turns to alex. She hugs alex
