Ch 42

Tony: "alex?"

He runs over and helps her up

Tony: "alex, alex are you okay?"

Alex: "y- yeah"

Tony: "did it work"

Alex: "mhm"

Tony: "what happened? where do you go?"

Alex: "I need to go pick up Lizzie from school"

30 minutes later

Lizzie: "hi mom"

Alex: "hey Lizzie"

Lizzie gets into the car

Alex: "how was school?"

Lizzie: "it was good. We had our math test"

Alex: "how was that?"

Lizzie: "super easy. What about you mom? How was your day off"

Alex; "it was good"

Lizzie: "are you sure mom? You're blocking me out and you usually don't do that"

Alex: "yeah I'm fine dont worry about me, just have some stuff on my mind i promise you"

Lizzie: "okay if you say so mom. What is mom doing right now?"

Alex: "when i left she was working on some stuff for S.H.I.E.L.D."

Lizzie: "are we going home now or are we goiingback to the compound"

Alex: "we are heading home, carol will meet us at home"

Lizzie: "okay"

When they get home

Alex: "do you need any help with homework or anything"

Lizzie: "no I'm good mom"

Alex: "alright tell me if you need anything"

Lizzie : "i will, thanks mom"

She walks upstairs to her bedroom. Alex watches to make sure  lizze goes to her room. Once she hears the door shut she slides down the wall crying. Her face in her hands. A few minutes later the front door opens

Carol: "love, lizzie I'm home"

She walks over to th dinning room and sets down her stuff

Carol sees alex crying

Carol: "love what's wrong"

She kneels next to alex

Caraol: "alex love what's wrong"

She tucks some of alex's hair behind her ear

Carol: "hey you can tell me anything"

She wipes alex's tears

Carol: "hey you can tell me anything"

Alex: "i-im fine"

Carol: "alex something is not fine, you can tell me"

Alex: "i can't i can't"

Carol hugs alex

Carol:"shh its okay"

Lizzie walks downstairs

Lizzie; "mom are you home? Whats going on"

She sees alex crying

Carol: "everything is fine lizzie, just go back to your room"

Lizzie walks back up to her room

Carol picks up alex and walks to their bedroom. She sets her down on the bed

Carol: "love what happened, you can tell me?"

Alex: "i-i helped tony and bruce with something, i twas with the updated time machine"

Carol:" what was so bad about that?"

Alex: "i saw saw some interaction with my mom that i would never expect"

Carol: "like what?"

Alex: "her saying she didn't want kids and never wanted one in a million years and then I saw my. Dad. He was yelling at me and-"

Alex couldn't finish explaining

Carol: "do you remember any of this happening before you watvhed that play through"

Alex: "i remember them arguing but i dont know why...i need to go"

Carol: "alex"

Alex: "i just- please can you give me some space"

Carol nods

Carol: "i will"

Alex grabs her car keys and gets into her car. She drives to her moms house
