Many hours later back at the compound
Carol: "what are you doing up here?"
Alex was up sitting on the compound roof looking up at the sky
Alex: "nothing just needed to clear my mind so i came up here... it's peaceful and beautiful, you can see all the stars"
Carol walks over and sits next to alex
Alex; "did you have a good time?"
Carol smiles
Carol: "yeah i did, it was so nice seeing them again. Before i met you and the rest of the avengers they were the only family i had"
They spend an hour on the rooftop talking
Carol: "i'm going to head to bed, I'm exhausted. What about you?"
Alex shakes her head
Alex: "not yet, in a bit"
Carol: "alex"
Alex: "hmm?"
Carol: "i know i keep asking you but are you okay?"
Alex: "I'm fine babe really. You don't have to keep checking on me"
Carol: "i know it's just I'm worried about you"
Alex:" I'm fine I promise you"
She kisses carol's cheek
Carol: "I'm here to talk if you need it, okay"
Alex nods
Alex: "thanks babe"
Carol kisses alex
Carol: "good night love you"
She gets up
Alex: "night love you too"
Carol walks back inside
Alex: "what did that nightmare mean, the one i had last night... e-everyone dusted away, including me and all my friends..."
Alex digs her face into her hands
Alex: "it was just a stupid nightmare, it's not real"
An hour later alex heads to bed
