The next morning

At work

Pepper: "good morning Alex"

Alex: "good morning ms potts"

Pepper: "what is on the agenda today?"

Alex: "We have to finish planning the gala. And at 12:40 you have lunch with Mr. Simmons then you have a meeting at 3:30 with the boss of the charity you will be donating the money to."

Pepper: "thank you, Alex"

Alex: "it is no problem ms potts"

A couple of hours later

Pepper: "so can you repeat the final details for the gala"

Alex: "of course. The gala is scheduled for this day next month. We will be auctioning off several pieces of art jewelry etc. all the money that is raised during that night will be donated to relief international and Red Cross along with"

They continue talking about the details

Pepper: "will you be attending the gala Alex?"

Alex: "I was not planning to"

Pepper: "oh come on you contributed so much to this"

Alex: "alright then I will"

Pepper: "you should bring carol with you"

Alex: "I'll ask. She hates dressing up and stuff like that but I can probably convince her"

Later back at the compound. Carol and Alex are in carol's bedroom

Carol and Alex are sitting on the bed talking

Alex: "babe"

Carol: "yes love?"

Alex: "stark industries are hosting a gala next month and I was wondering if you would attend with me"

Carol: "You know how I feel about those events. Especially the whole dressing up part"

Alex: "please babe... please I never ask you for anything... just do this one thing for me"

carol: "I don't know love"

Alex frowns

Alex: "please, please babe...please"

Carol: "fine"

Alex smiles

Alex: "thank you"

Carol kisses Alex

Carol: "do you want to go out tonight?"

Alex: "Like where?"

Carol: "My friend and I used to go to this bar called Poncho's bar. It's a bit of a drive though"

Alex: "sure that sounds like a nice casual date. Besides, i want to get out of the compound"

Later at the bar

A man walks over to Alex while carol was getting something from the car

??: "Hey cutie. Why the long face? You should smile. It will look a lot better than that frown on your face"

Alex: "Look, if you are trying to hit on me it's not going to work"

Man: "and why not?"

Alex: "give it a few seconds"

She takes a sip of her drink

Carol walks in

Carol: "found your jacket what d- who's this?"

??: "the names don"

Carol: "carol"

They shake hands

Don tries to take his hand away from the handshake but carol had a death grip on it. 

Carol: "So Don was it? I suggest you leave my girlfriend alone. If not, you will have to deal with me and trust me. I'm a lot tougher than I look"

She tightens her grip around the man's hand causing him to fall to his knees

Carol: "So what shall it be? Aggravating my girlfriend or leaving us to be"

Don: "l-leaving you both"

Carol: "Good choice... no smile"

She lets go of his hand. he gets up and runs out of the bar

Carol: "come on let's sit at a Booth"

They sit down at a table

Alex giggles

Alex: "thanks babe"

Carol: "he was trying to hit on my girl and I wasn't going to allow that"

Alex laughs

Alex: "I love you,  idiot"

Carol kisses Alex and wraps an arm around alex

Alex: "god you are so protective"
