We went back to the motel room after what happened and Same was sitting on the bed while I laid down on the other one. Of course, Dean had updated us on what was really going on.
"So Roy really believes." Sam reiterated to make sure we heard correctly.
"I don't think he has any idea what his wife's doing." Dean stated.
"Can I also just apologise for the whole tent thing? It was like one of those 'It was a good idea before I actually did it' type of moments." I added.
"Kat your fine. I was planning on shouting fire anyway and it was more believable with actual fire there. Plus no one was hurt and it was small." He told making me nod as Sam spoke about what he found.
"Well, I found this." He told handing a little book to Dean. "Hidden in their library. It's ancient. Written by a priest who went dark side. There's a binding spell in here for trapping a reaper."
"Oh lovely." I told
"Must be a hell of a spell."
"Yeah. You gotta build a black alter with seriously dark stuff. Bones, human blood. To cross a line like that, a preachers wife. Black magic. Murder. Evil...." Sam explained before Dean cut in.
"Desperate. Her husband was dying, she didn't have anything to save him. She was using the binding spell to keep the reaper away from Roy."
"Cheating death, literally."
"Talk about death till do them part." I stated.
"Yeah but Roy's alive, so why is she still using the spell?"
"Right. To force the reaper to kill people she thinks are immoral." Sam stated.
"Chick be crazy? She's religious and anything that doesn't follow the bible is wrong. Even though it was actually transcribed from a different language so the whole man should not lie with another man thing was originally about how a man should not lie with a child. I'm paraphrasing here of course." I stated.
"Why do you know that?" Sam asked
"I lived in a town full of religious people, and it was fun to piss them off with stuff like that."
"May God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work." Dean added and I pointed at him in agreement.
"We gotta break that binding spell Dean." Sam told as Dean looked at the picture of the cross that was in the book.
"You know Sue Ann had a coptic cross like this. When she dropped it the reaper backed off." He told.
"So you think we gotta find the cross or destroy the alter?" We both asked.
"Maybe both. Whatever we do we better do it soon, or he's healing Layla tonight." He told.
'Well this is gonna be fun.'

We rolled up to the house without the lights on the car on and Dean stopped the car. Sadly though we saw a familiar car already there.
"That's Layla's car. She's already here." Sam told and Dean nodded sadly at what's going to happen.
"Yeah."
"Dean..." sam began only for Dean to cut him off.
"You know if Roy woulda picked Layla instead of me she'd be here right now. And if she's not healed tonight she's gunna die in a coupla months."
"What's happening to her is horrible. But what are you gunna do? Let somebody else die to save her? You said it yourself Dean, you can't play God."
'So sorry Dean.'
He just sat there without speaking before just getting out of the car with Sam following. I went to follow but Dean stopped me.
"I want you to wait here."
"What why?!"
"We don't know what's going to happen. I don't want you to get hurt."
"Dean...."
"We aren't discussing this anymore Kat. You are staying in the car and that's final." He told before shutting the door and walked towards the tent with Sam.
Sam looked back and we both shrugged at it but I knew I wasn't gonna stay in Baby for long.

(Dean p.o.v)

We approached the tent and peeked inside, to see Roy was speaking to a small group of people who were apart of the faithful, including Layla and her mother.
"Gather round, please everyone, gather round. Come in closer, come on up." Roy told but I didn't see who we were worried about.
"Where's Sue Ann?" I questioned.
"House." Sam suggested making us move to the house and I saw the cops from earlier.
"Go find Sue Ann, I'll catch up." I told pushing him away from me.
"What are you gunna...?" He began to ask but stopped and I got the cops attention.
"Hey! The cops look over." I told making them look directly at me. "You gunna put that fear of God in me?"
They didn't say anything but instead dropped their coffee and began to run towards me, making me take off so they couldn't catch me
'Should be fine.'
I ended up losing them slightly, so I was now silently creeping up besides a camper van while they were on the other side with flashlights looking for me.
"You see him?"
"Nah."
I slowly rose up next to the passenger window as I looked behind me. Suddenly a large dog jumped at the window and began to bark wildly causing me to leap back. I quickly moved to a hiding place as the cops began to shine their lights underneath the van.
"Psycho mutt"
They moved on and I sticked my head up to see them walk away before I sagged against the roof.
'That was a close one.'

I headed back towards the tent when some of the lights began to go out. I stopped in my tracks and began to look behind me as I watched the line of lights that lit the path beginning to go out one by one. I turned back around to see the reaper walking towards me.
'Son of a bitch.'
I had my hand grabbed making me look to see Kat there with a panicked look.
"Run!" She told before pulling me with her and I began to run with her.
"Why aren't you in the car?!"
"Did you really think I was gonna stay in the car?"
"Well yeah."
"Dean in friends with you and Sam. Why would I have stayed in the car?!"
"Fair point." I told before we quickly began to a different way since we saw the reaper.

We ended up stopping since Kats head began to hurt and she fell to the ground making me panic.
"Kat?"
"It's too loud!" She told and I quickly fell to the ground with her. "No! You need to keep running."
"I'm not leaving you like this." I told before the Reaper placed his hand on the side of my head.
Kat grabbed ahold of my hand as my eyes began to glaze over.
For some reason the Reaper stopped causing me to fall more towards the ground gasping and Kat wrapped her arms around me. We looked towards the Reaper to see him disappear making us confused.
"We need a break." Kat told making me laugh.
"We do." I told before we laughed some more.

We made it back to Baby just as Sam began to walk towards us.
"You ok?" He asked making me shake my head.
"Hell of a week."
"Yeah...All right, come on. We should get going." He told making us all quickly get in and leave.

I was sitting on the bed staring at nothing and I knew Sam and Kat were watching me.
"What is it?" Sam asked.
"Nothing." I told making silence fall between the three of us for a few seconds.
"What is it?" He asked again but more gently.
"We did the right thing here didn't we?"
"Of course we did." He told making me hang my head and Kat wrapped her arms around me for a hug.
"It doesn't feel like it." I admitted before the door was knocked on.
"I got it." Sam told heading towards the door.
"It's ok Dean." Kat told making me pat her hand.
Sam opened the door making us turn to see it was Layla standing there.
"Hey Layla. Come on in." Sam told moving to the side for her.
"Hey." She told as she entered and I quickly rose to my feet leaving Kats hug.
"How did you know we were here?" I asked as Kat got up as well and went towards the door.
"Sam...called. He said you...wanted to say goodbye?" She explained making me glance towards Sam to see he had a sheepish look.
"I'm gunna...grab a soda."
"Same here. We'll go together!" Kat added before the left together and Sam closed the door behind them.
"So, uh. Where are you going?" She asked to break the awkwardness of the situation.
"Don't know yet. Our work kinda takes us all over." I told and she watched me in silence for a moment.
"You know...I went back to see Roy." She confessed and I nodded.
"What happened?" I asked even though I knew and she sat on one of the beds.
"Nothing. He laid his hands on my forehead but nothing happened." She explained and I sat next to her.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry it didnt work."
"And Sue Ann. She's dead you know? Stroke."
"Yeah I heard. You know Roy's a good man. He doesn't deserve what's happened." I told looking towards her. "Must be rough. To believe in something so much, and have it disappoint you."
"You wanna hear something weird?" She asked smiling and I turned to look more at her.
"I'm ok. Really. I guess if you're gunna have faith...you can't just have it when the miracles happen. You have to have it when they don't."
"So what now?" I asked and she smiled softly.
"God works in mysterious ways." I told and she laid her hand softly on the side of my face.
"Good Bye Dean." She told before standing up and moved towards the door.
I closed my eyes for a second before rising to my feet and turning towards her.
"Well..." I began before clearing my throat as she turned back to face me. "I'm not much of the praying type...but...I'm gunna pray for you."
"Well...There's a miracle right there." She told as her eyes shined with unshed tears.
She turned back around and left leaving me staring at the door.
