Dean was leaning against the glass window that was next to the door looking bored as we waited for Sam
"You ok?" I asked making him look towards me.
"Why do you ask?"
"You just seem annoyed and upset. You know, I sometimes have cupcakes to help cheer me up. Do you need a cupcake?"
"It's ok. I'm fine but thank you for asking."
"If you say so, but I hope you aren't lying."
I moved closer to him so I could rest my head on his chest making him chuckle at how I did it.
"You good Kat?"
"Peachy."
"Glad you are." He told as he began to mess with my hair.
After awhile the door opens making us look to see Sam walk past us. Since he was walking so fast we both had to catch up to him and match his pace, which ended with Dean holding my hand so I didn't fall too far behind.
"Dude! You were in there forever. What the hell were you talking about?"
"You and Kat." Sam told before looking towards us except the usual happened where his mouth didn't move. "Just the hospital, you know."
'Why did he talk about the both of us?'
"And...?"
"And the south wing? It's where the housed the really hard cases. The psychotics, the criminally insane." He told
"Sounds cozy."
"Did you know is Australia there's an abandoned mental asylum in a place called Ararat. And something only Australia did was bound the woman's and hands and feet together before placing them in a burlap sack and sewed them up in it, before leaving them like that for a few days or a week."
"Why do you know that?" Dean asked
"I like asylums. Interesting history to them."
"You are peculiar Kat." He told making me give a smile.
"Anyway." Sam told making us focus on the information he has. "And one night in '64, they rioted. Attacked staff. Attacked each other."
"So the patients took over the asylum?"
"Apparently."
"I mean it makes sense, they weren't always treated the best."
"Any deaths?" Dean questioned.
"Some patients, some staff. I guess it was pretty gory. Some of the bodies were never even recovered, including our chief of staff, Ellicott."
"Whaddaya mean, never recovered?"
"Wouldn't that mean he was never found?" I asked
"Cops scoured every inch of the place but I guess the patients must've...stuffed the bodies somewhere hidden."
"That's grim."
"Yeah. So, they transfered all the remaining patients and closed the hospital down." He explained
"So, to sum it up, we've got a bunch of violent deaths and a bunch of unrecovered bodies." Dean stated
"And a bunch of angry spirits."
"Sounds 'bout right."
"Good times. Let's check out the hospital tonight." Dean told as we continued to head back to the car when I realised something.
"Wait." I told making them all stop and look towards me. "Did you say it closed in 1967?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Well the Soviet Union banned them in 1950 and the rest of the world followed after."
"When was the last one performed?" Dean asked
"In 1967 Dr. Freeman performed his last lobotomy before being banned. Many places in the United States had banned it anyway, which includes asylums. It would have been very unorthodox for any of the doctors there to do so. Especially in an experiment way."
"Why does she know all this?" Sam asked looking towards Dean for an answer.
"She did psychology in high school. I don't know."
"It just makes me wonder what could have made the cop go loco. The cop said his partner was fine, so he wouldn't have been lobotomised. Which means it's another thing that's setting these off. Interesting."
"You good Kat?" Dean asked
"I'm not thinking about the missing bodies and why it sounds familiar to another thing I read."
"Are you able to work it out now?" Sam asked making me shake my head.
"Not yet. I'll think about it on the way there."
