Me and Sam were packing up our things when Dean came rushing out of the bathroom.
"We got a problem, I can't find my wallet." Dean told as he began to look around the motel room.
"How is that my problem?" Sam questioned.
"Cause I think I dropped it in the warehouse last night." He admitted making us panic.
"You're kidding right?"
"No. It's got my prints, my ID, well my fake ID anyway. We gotta get it before someone else finds it. Come on." He told making us rush out of the motel room.We were looking everywhere that we could around the auction house trying to find this wallet that Dean never lost, and Sam was frustrated.
"How do you lose your wallet Dean!" He quietly exclaimed making Dean throw his hands in the air before we continued to look.
As we were searching we were slightly startled by Sarah's voice suddenly behind us.
"Hey guys!" She told making us spin around and try to act as inconspicuous as possible.
"Sarah! Hey." Sam spoke first as she smiled at the three of us.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Ahh, we...we are leaving town and we came to say goodbye." He told before me and Dean strolled over.
"What are you talking about Sam, we're here for another day or two." Dean told as I nodded along, making Sam give us a confused look.
"How could you forget that?" I added as Dean for his wallet from his pocket.
"Oh, Sam. By the way. I'm gonna go ahead and give you that $20 I owe you." Dean told before he turned to Sarah. "I always forget, you know."
Sam was looking at the two of us with a disbelieving look while Dean kept holding the cash out for him.
"There you go." He told making Sam snatch the cash from him as he glared at his older brother. "Well I'll leave you two crazy kids alone, I gotta go do something...somewhere. Kat?"
"All the some's." I added as I wrapped my arms around one of Deans before the two of us quickly left.
We were looking around at things at the auction place when we heard Sam shout.
"OH MY GOD!"
We looked towards where he was when I saw into his mind and saw that the painting was carried past him, causing my eyes to go wide.
"This is fucken bad." I told.We were back in the impala with me sitting in the back, not sure where we we're heading by this time.
"I don't understand Dean, we burned the damn thing." Sam told.
"Yeah, thank you Captain Obvious. All right, we just need to figure out another way to get rid of it. Any ideas?" Dean questioned.
"I know this is a stupid thought. What if we tried more fire?" I asked.
"Hate to say this Kat. Don't think more fire is gonna help here." Dean told making me frown before Sam spoke.
"Okay, All right. Well, in almost all the lore about haunted paintings it's always the painting's subject that haunts them." He explained.
"Yeah. So we just need to figure out everything there is to know about that creepy-ass family and that creepy-ass painting. What were their names again?" Dean asked."You said the Isaiah Merchant family right?" The Proprietor told as we stood in his second hand book shop.
"Yeah that's right." Sam told as Dean approached with a smile as he flicked through an old book with pictures of guns.
'Dean being Dean.'
The proprietor laid down a huge book of newspaper clippings onto the table in front of us before he began to speak.
"I dug up every scrap of local history I could find. So are you boys and girl crime buffs?" He asked.
"Kinda. Yeah" Me and Dean told as one before he continued.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well..." he began before holding a newspaper article up.
The lead story of the front page was about the Titanic sinking with 1404 people succumbing to the cold and dying, and only 866 was saved by another boat. He pointed to a side article, showing it read 'Father Slaughters Family, kill Himself'.
"Yes. Yeah, that sounds about right." Dean told after he read.
"The whole family was kill?" Sam asked.
"Brutal."
"It seems this Isaiah, he slits his kids throats, then his wife, them himself. Now he was a barber by trade. Used a straight razor."
"Why'd he do it?" Sam questioned.
"Let's look. Ahh... 'People who knew him describe Isaiah as having a stern and harsh temperament. Controlled his family with an iron fist. Wife, two sons, adopted daughter...' Yeah yeah yeah... 'There were whispers that the wife was gonna take the kids and leave..' Which of course you know in that day and age...so instead, old man Isaiah...well he gave them all a shave." The Proprietor read to us before drawing his hand across his throat with the appropriate noises, making himself laugh.
Dean joined in but stopped when he saw Sam give his signature bitchface.
"Does it say what happened to the bodies?" Dean asked.
"It says they were all cremated." He told.
'Might be an issue.'
"Anything else?" Sam asked making the man nod.
"Yeah. Actually I found a picture of the family. It's right here...somewhere. Right, here it is." He told before showing us a picture of the painting we had burnt the night before.
"Hey, can we get a copy of this please?" Sam asked.
"Sure."
