Sam jumped over the tall chain linked fence at the asylum, before me and Dean went after hun and then entered the asylum.
"This is such a cool place." I told making Dean quickly wrap his arm around me so he doesn't lose me in this place.
"So apparently the cops chased the kids here...into the south wing." Sam told before indicating a sign that was over one door.
"South wing, huh? Wait a second." Dean told before he grabbed their fathers journal that he had on him and flipped through it before finding the page he was after. "1972. Three kids broke into the south wing, only one survived. Way he tells it, one of his friends went nuts and started lighting up the place."
"So whatever's going on, the south wing is the heart of it." Sam stated
"Which means that to solve it we may have to go there." I added
"But if the kids are spelunking the asylum, why aren't there a ton more deaths?" Dean asked as Sam looked around.
"Maybe it's only certain people. Like they have some trait about them that the spirits like."
"Could be." Dean told before Sam spoke up near a broken chain.
"Looks like the doors are usually chained. Could've been chained up for years."
"Yeah, to keep people out. Or to keep something in." Dean stated making us all look at one another before Sam pushed the door open slowly.
We began to walk down a hallway and took in the way it was all abandoned, yet I felt something off about the whole thing.
'Why do I feel the sadness and pain people felt in here?'
"Let me know if you see any dead people, Haley Joel." Dean told
"Dude, enough."
"Maybe when we aren't in the asylum we don't make those types of jokes." I suggested.
"I'm serious. You gotta be careful, all right? Ghosts are attracted to that whole ESP thing you got going on." He stated
"I told you, it's not ESP! I just have strange vibes sometimes. Weird dreams."
"Yeah, whatever. Don't ask, don't tell."
"I mean, Kat had that weird thing happen to her at our old house." Sam stated
"That weird thing, was a crushing feeling on my chest. I wouldn't fully know why is happened, all that they could sense something about me."
"Maybe you also have a gift or something." Sam suggested.
"I doubt it. Due to the fact if I did wouldn't I have known about it by now?" I questioned making them give a nod of understanding.
"You get any reading on that thing or not?" Sam asked as Dean walked with his homemade EFM reader.
"Nope. Of course, it doesn't mean no one's home." He told
"Should we have knocked then?" I asked making Dean give a small laugh.
"Spirits can't appear during certain hours of the day." Sam stated.
"Yeah, the freaks come out at night."
"Especially on full moons. That's something I knew before meeting you two." I told making them smile more.
"Yeah."
"Hey Sam, who do you think is the hotter psychic: Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Love Hewitt, or you?" Dean deadpanned making me think as Sam pushes him making the older Winchester laugh.
"Jennifer Love Hewitt in my opinion. I mean have you seen that lady? She's so gorgeous." I told making Dean laugh more.
"Tough luck Sammy. Kat has spoken."
"Sammy?"
"Something Dean calls me sometimes."
"Am I allowed to call you Sammy as well or is it only a Dean thing?" I asked making him pull the face I've come to known as his thinking one.
"Can I get back to you on that?"
"Of course."

We entered another room and we all looked around, with Dean making sure I didn't go too far without him.
"Man. Electro-shock. Lobotomies. They did some twisted stuff to these people. Kinda like my man Jack in Cuckoo's Nest." Dean told making crazy eyes before grinning at me and Sam.
I smiled at his antics but Sam ignored him, making his smile drop. We continued to look around till Dean spoke again.
"So. Whaddaya think? Ghosts possessing people?"
"Maybe. Or maybe it's more like Amityville, or the Smurl hunting."
"I like the Amityville movies. Quite enjoyable."
"Spirits driving them insane. Kinda like my man Jack in The Shining." Dean told showing me his signature grin.
"No fun makes Jack a dull boy." I told mirroring his.
"Dean." Sam said making us both look towards him. "When are we going to talk about it?"
"Talk about what?"
"About the fact Dad's not here."
'Oh I would go into the other room but Dean doesn't want me getting lost. Understandable he probably feels like I'm apart of his responsibility.'
"Oh. I see. How 'bout...never."
"I'm being serious, man. He sent us here..." he began only for Dean to cut him off.
"So am I, Sam. Look, he sent us here, he obviously wants us here. We'll pick up the search later."
"It doesn't matter what he wants."
"See. That attitude? Right there? That is why I always get the extra cookie."
'I kinda want a cookie right now and not be in the middle of this.'
"Dad could be in trouble, we should be looking for him. We deserve some answers, Dean. I mean, this is our family we're talking about."
"I understand that, Sam, but he's given us an order."
"So what, we gotta always follow Dad's orders?"
"Of course we do."
"Yeah is this why you haven't spoken to Riv since dad told us to cut her out of our lives?"
'Riv? Who's Riv?'
"No we aren't talking about her Sam."
"Yeah that's how it's always been since she was 16. Don't talk about her like she doesn't exist." He told giving Dean a frustrated look only for Dean to turn away from it ending the conversation.
Just as Dean went to poke around some more I heard a voice in the hallway. I stepped out of the way we came in and saw something move past at the end of the corridor making me tilt my head towards it.
"Help us." Another person spoke making me take a step towards it, only to then see a metal tool lying on the ground next to the wall.
I walk over and pick it up and looked at it while I waited for the boys to be done with whatever they were doing.
"KAT!" Dean exclaimed as I heard them both rush out of the room.
"Yes?"
"Don't run off like that." He told as he came over to me.
"I found a thing." I stated as I showed it to him.
"What is this?"
"I think it was used for lobotomy."
"Lobotomy?"
"Yeah. You know where they would take this and place it right at the eye socket closest to the nose, and then hammer it in before wiggling it around to fix people. They did it to JFK's sister since they thought it would help calm her mood swings and occasional violent outbursts. What actually happened was they made her not be able to walk or talk anymore, and she only was able to really gain movement in one arm. She actually passed away in January on the 7th of this year."
"Strange you know that."
"I did psychology back in high school and we had to write about a procedure that dealt with the brain. It's actually quite a fascinating procedure."
"Come on. We are getting out of here for now." He told as he slung his arm over my shoulder and we walked out once we reunited with Sam at the entrance to the room we all had left.
"Go before he catches you." Someone spoke making me more confused.
I looked towards the boys to see they didn't react to what the voice said making me think.
'Maybe there is something wrong with me.'
