Spencer was sitting in the waiting room with his hands folded in his lap in the hospital inches away from Coop's surgery room. He rushed to the hospital as soon as his mom told him while he was playing in the middle of the championship game. Football was something he truly loved but he never loved the game more than the people around him. Coop had been in his corner since kindergarten and bonds like the one they had don't come easy so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that he abandoned the game to see about her when he found out she was shot, by Mo, nevertheless. Now she was in that room fighting for her life while her loved ones waited in limbo. It was tearing him apart not knowing if she was going to pull through, but he was hoping and praying to God that she would. His leg bounced until he heard a faint familiar voice that could always calm him down.

"Spencer! Baby!" His girlfriend running towards him as he stood up quickly smashing into her body letting her embrace him. She rubbed his head as he had his hands wrapped completely around her waist. She had her arms circling his head as she rubbed his back up and down soothing him with her voice.

"It's okay, it's okay, I'm here baby" They pulled apart as Liv caressed his cheek seeing a tear falling from his face.

"Stay with me?" Her doe eyes softened at his honest request leaning in giving him a warm, soft kiss.

"Of course, I'll stay with you" They embraced again before she intertwined their fingers to sit down.

About an hour later Coop was still being operated on in surgery. The doctor came out to let Patience, her dad, and Spencer know that they were able to remove the bullet but now they were trying to get a handle on all the blood lost caused by the bullet. It was touch and go and the longer they waited, the more frantic and upset Spencer became. He paced the floor for about another hour.

"I can't do this, I need some air"

"Baby come sit down, you've been like that for over an hour"

"This hospital is suffocating me Liv, I feel like I can't breathe, I gotta get out of here" He marched his way to the exit and Liv followed walking behind him.

"Where are you going Spencer? It's the middle of the night"

"Anywhere but here, just stay put, I'll be back"

"I'm not going anywhere without you babe, just talk to me" He trekked his way out of the hospital landing at the entrance before Liv pulled his arm back to her.

"Liv please, just let me go right now aight, I need a moment"

"You can have your moment, but I'm not going anywhere"

"Liv...." He trailed off when she grabbed his face with both of her hands caressing the sides.

"Hey, look at me" His eyes slid up slowly meeting hers while tears produced in his eyes again rackling up all of his emotions.

"I know you're scared but I will not let you push me away when you need me. I'm right here, and Coops going to pull through. I need you to trust that and believe in that, okay?"

He was silent as she pulled him back into her chest and he hesitantly wrapped himself around her finally letting the tears pour out. Olivia planted kisses on his neck continuing to hug him. He pulled back for a second, gaping into her browns lifting his lips to hers.

"I'm sorry.... I just want her to be okay...."

"I know, and she will be"

"Can we get out of here for a bit? I need a change of scenery for a moment"

"Of course, we can go anywhere you want, and I know a great spot"

Liv kisses his cheek linking her hands with his walking them to the car. After getting their favorite smoothies, Liv drove them up to the Griffith Observatory, parking in the area where the Hollywood sign was planted. Once she parked, they both got out sitting on top of the roof of her car sipping on their smoothies as their fingers were entwined between both of their thighs. Liv watched her boyfriend sip on his smoothie silently knowing his mind was deep in thought right now.

"What's got the All-American so quiet?" Olivia joked trying to lighten her boyfriend's mood as a smile crept up on his face.

"I was just sitting here thinking about how life can be so precious, and how easily we take advantage of that. Coop and I wasted months not speaking, now were finally back on track with our friendship and now this happens, I knew we couldn't trust that woman, I should've warned her" Liv set her smoothie down lifting her finger to his chin making him look at her.

"Don't go blaming yourself for this Spencer James, you may have been suspicious, but you are not to blame for what happened. The only person responsible is the one who pulled the trigger and that wasn't you. Don't do this to yourself"

"I should've been looking out for her though Liv, maybe if I had played close attention, then maybe I could've prevented this" He said defeatedly.

"No, you couldn't have prevented this, wanna know why? Because it was a plan set in motion before you knew anything about it. Mo was going after Coop regardless, and there was nothing you, Preach or anyone could've done about that. You can't save everybody babe, and it's not your job, stop making it your task. Your job right now is to be the friend and brother to her, that you've always been and be strong for her. Hold it down with Patience until she returns"

"I always knew you were smarter than I am" She chuckles,

"Maybe just younger and a little wiser"

"Mmm just an year younger and wiser but, I'll catch up to you, promise" She nods softly with an smile as he leans kissing her lips.

"I love you, so much, Olivia Baker"

"I love you even more, Spencer James" They kissed once more before embracing one another warmly.
