Her breath got caught in her throat as he burned an hole in her heart with his intense glare. Even from across the room, she could feel his energy so strong without even meaning to, and the way they left things, she kinda hated it. She tried so hard not to look back, but she couldn't help herself.

"Olivia, you good?" Bryan's voice moved Liv's eyes away from Spencer's view.

"Huh?" she responded without looking at him. Bryan's brow lifted as he reached across the table taking her hand. She came back into reality the second she felt the slight graze of his hand on hers. She looked up attempting a smile.

"Sorry Bryan, I thought I.... thought I saw someone I knew, but, anyway, you were saying" Olivia shook her head of all thoughts of Spencer taking a sip from her lemonade, half-listening to Bryan's story about his educational journey and what led him to the career path he's taking. Spencer stood frozen in his stance before a waitress passing by bumping into him with a tray of food, luckily, they caught it.

"So sorry sir!" he jumped a little finally turning away from the direction his ex was in.

"No need to apologize, I'm the one in your way" He moved to the side letting her get through and trekked his way back to his own table.

"I was beginning to think you fell in" Liyah tried to make a joke recognizing the visual tension on her date's face. Spencer sat down with a blank stare to his very empty glass, secretly wishing it was full. Liyah tilted her head in his direction, genuinely concerned.

"Hey, you alright over there, you seem a little distracted by something"

"I'm good" he said dryly, trying his hardest to play it off. Liyah narrowed her brows at him, crossing her arms staring him down before he caught on to what she was doing.

"Ok, maybe I'm not...so good, right now"

"Care to talk about it? I'm a pretty good listener?" Liyah offers placing her elbows on the table looking at him attentively. His head shoots up flashing her an honest smile.

"I just.... saw someone that I wasn't expecting to see, and it's got my head all the way twisted now" He admits in a low tone, feeling slightly bad of the turnout of his date. He tried to forget about her, tried to remove her from his heart but he just couldn't do it and after seeing her in the same place on a date with someone else, it confirmed everything he was already thinking. I'm still not over her.

"Would it happen to be that pretty light skin over there talking to that guy in front of her from across the way?" His eyes widened, shocked that she caught on so quickly.

"Wait, how did you-"she cut him off instantly.

"I peeped it when you came out of the bathroom, wondered why you were taking so long then I seen you just, standing in the middle of the walkway, staring at her table, and her. I put two and two together after that" Spencer's head lowered in a bit of embarrassment.

"I'm sorry Liyah, I swear to you, I didn't plan this, I didn't even know she was gonna be here a-"

"Spencer, it's okay, there's just some things that you can't shake, no judgment here" Liyah was an amazing woman, and she's gonna make the right man happy, one day, it just can't be me. My heart's taken from someone else.

"Thanks for not judging me, I know this probably wasn't your ideal way of spending your first date together"

"Why would I? I've been where you are before. I could never blame you for being human" She grinned as he laughed a little, clearing up his throat.

"Listen Liyah, I think you're great, and I enjoyed my time with you tonight, but I think I'm gonna call it a night"

"Oh, not the "it's not you it's me" speech" She rolled her eyes playfully pausing him as he laughed at her for teasing him.
