Spencer and Olivia kissed each other passionately unapologetically, basking in a moment they've both secretly longed to happen, for a long time now. They knew how they felt about one another, from the start, since the day they met when Spencer first came to Beverly. What they didn't know was the two set of eyes watching them.
Layla's POV
Wow, I should've seen this coming, actually I did, I just chose to ignore the inevitable. I don't know what I was thinking. The way he's looking at her, the way she looks at him, how could I ever think I could compete with that? Sure, I like Spencer, but if I'm being honest here, it probably wouldn't have lasted, because he's never looked at me the way he looks at her.
Layla was caught up in her thoughts until she heard faint footsteps approaching her from behind and a hand fell to her shoulder making her jump.
"Chris? What are you doing out here, you scared me?" Chris eyes had a layer focus towards what was happening on the bench right across from them.
"Same reason you're out here, getting a confirmation of what's already been said in my head"
"& what would that be?" Layla looked over slightly with her arms folded, starting to shiver as the rain began to come down from the sky. Chris sensed this and like the gentleman he is, he removed his suit jacket throwing it over her shoulders.
"That when fate comes knocking, you can't fight it" Layla glanced at him with pitiful eyes as she slowly nodded her head, with a single tear falling from her face.
"Wanna head back in there?" Layla looked down to her feet, shaking her head.
"Nah, I think I've seen enough for tonight, I think I'm just gonna head home"
"Need a lift?" Chris slipped his hands in his pockets, shooting her an honest smile. Her eyes reached his as she returned his smile, grateful for his kindness at this time.
"Sure, thanks, Chris"
"Ain't no thang, come on let's get out of here" Chris motioned his head towards the opposite direction walking away with Layla following close behind with his jacket still intact. They both ran towards the parking lot once they felt the rain intensifying. Meanwhile over on the bench, Spencer and Olivia's lips remain tangled. After matching her tongue with his one more time, she finally willed herself to pull away, but slowly, as their eyes drifted to one another. Spencer pecked her lips again, yearning for more of her, as she had her hands on both sides of his face. He grabbed one placing it up between them, meshing their fingers togethers. Her forehead fell to his as they both came up for air.
"Wow, that was...."
"It was what" Spencer laughed as she smiled up at him.
"Everything that I imagined, and more" She whispered planting another soft kiss to his lips slowly and gently. Spencer started laughing out of nowhere and Olivia pulled away with a frown.
"Why are you laughing so hard?"
"I just remembered how much I hate the rain yet here I am sitting soak and wet in my suit without a care in the world"
"You're not the only one, I hate the rain too, but with you, I could probably stay this way forever"
Spencer's POV
Forever feels like a really long time, but with her, it doesn't feel as long. What in the world is happening to me, is it really that serious, or is this all in my head? I don't want to hurt anyone, but I can't help how I feel. Do I like Layla? Yeah, I think she's great, she's got a light inside of her that she hides so well from everyone, but I see right through that, and she's funny and ambitious. Then there's her, Olivia. She's so, outspoken, warm, kind, caring, but most of all, selfless. She may have demons to fight but she hasn't let that stop her from being the person she wants to be, someone she can be proud of down the line and when I'm around her, my heart melts, in the worst way.
Spencer's vision fell into hers, deeply, and intimately, grazing his fingers across her cheek, and she tilted her head relaxing into his sweet touch.
"How did we get here, Liv?"
"Not taking each other to homecoming?" Olivia teased as they shared a laugh equally. Laughter subsided and their heartbeats were the only sound consuming the quiet silence.
"We really should get back inside before we catch a cold. You want to go back in?" Spencer said on a serious note, not wanting that for either of them. Olivia looked toward the double doors of the auditorium peering down at their hands that were now, intertwined.
"No, I don't think I want to go back in, I wanna go home, Spence" He smiled, dragging his lips across her forehead as his heartbeat quickened. What is it about you?
"Okay, I can take you, if you'd like?"
"I would like that" Her lips curved forming a smile as he took her by the hand, helping her up, taking his suit jacket off to cover her wet frame. Her hair was completely soaked, along with her dress and her feet, and yet, she still was so beautiful to him. About twenty minutes later, the rain had stopped, and they were walking side by side, Spencer's jacket still intact. They reached her doorstep, and she removed his jacket from her shoulders.
"Thanks for keeping me warm, and walking me home"
"No problem, Liv, I would've done it for you, even if you hadn't asked" Olivia smiled to herself before looking up at him.
"I know you would have, but it's nice to hear that out loud" Spencer cleared his throat a little.
"Soo, uhm, about that kiss, should we uh- "
"If you're wondering whether or not I regret it, my answers no, but, do you regret it?" Olivia wondered, desperately wanting to know the answer. Spencer looked away for a few seconds not knowing what to say. Olivia's face looked hurt as she pushed her key inside the door pausing to look at him.
"I guess, I have my answer, Goodnight Spence" Olivia pushed her hand on the knob turning it, feeling disappointed.
"Liv" Spencer whispered pulling her arm back to his chest, breathing her in. With one swift of his hand, he cupped her face kissing her passionately, letting his lips linger a minute before he pulled away, resting his forehead on hers. They stood there, eyes closed, taken back by themselves and each other.
"Spence..." She said his name like she wanted, and needed him, like she couldn't stand the thought of him walking away from her. He matched her energy kissing her nose, then her eyes, and back up her lips again, softly kissing her neck an little earning an moan only he could hear.
"I...Olivia I don't regret anything, not with you, I've never, felt this way, about anyone before. I find myself drawn to you, and when your near me, I just want to protect you, and hold you, and...be close to you, and it scares me that I feel this way. I'm just, trying to process it all" Olivia caressed his cheek in her hand, as her eyes tearfully met up with his.
"You're not alone in that Spence, my heart beats so fast when your next to me, and when you look at me, I feel like you can see me, like the real me, like I don't have to shy away from who I am with you, because I know you'll accept me, with no reservation. It's like, the stars have aligned our lives to meet and...I'm just now starting to uncover what that really means, and it scares me too. Were friends, and I connect with you in a way I can't connect with anyone else, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more, dream of more. I just don't want us to...mess up anything we already have" Olivia spoke sadly as Spencer's head tilted gazing into her eyes, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"We don't have to figure anything out right this second, but for now, let's just..." he stopped, taking both of her hands in his,
"Be here, together" She nods as they both lean in to share one last kiss. He kissed her with tender, love and care.
"Call you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, tomorrow" He kissed her cheek before stepping off the doorstep before her voice stopped him,
"Hey Spence," He turned around,
"You just made this the best night of my life" he smiled walking away watching Olivia disappear through the door and into her home. Her back fell against the door, sliding down a little, touching her lips with a smile, with thoughts of him and what they could be.
How sweet these two are, I understood the assignment of the slow burn but seeing him with Layla was hard, but we got them and thats all that matters, and they are legit soulmates, nobody can tell me different, this new season is proving that! ♥️♥️Gn!
