One Week Before Wedding Bells

It was the night of Grace's rehearsal dinner, marking one week left until the big day. Spencer being the eldest of her two came with obligation and responsibility, one of which her oldest offspring wasn't a fan of, that being forced to socialize and greet every single person that walked through that door. While the impending bride made her rounds through the room with her fiancé on her arm, her son made an few of his own.

"Ya'll enjoying yourselves?"

Spencer tapped the shoulder of his uncle and Carter's younger brother that had been conversating in an circle accompanied by two women that looked to be half their ages, now finding an new spot to stand.

"We good young blood, this is an nice crib ya'll got tho. I guess living in Beverly Hills has its perks don't it"

Carter's brother answers.

"This ain't they place, it's his girlfriend-I mean ex-girlfriend's parents' home they rented out to her, don't be fooled my guy"

His uncle remarked bursting his bubble before he had an chance to defend any of it.

"Thank you for pointing out the obvious, unc"

Spencer folded his arms narrowing his brows.

"Not obvious enough cuz where she at? I don't understand how ya'll broken up and she's offering up her house to host things for your mom just to be close to you. If she wants you back, she should use her mouthpiece and speak up"

He sipped the drink in his hand while Spencer shook it off.

"That's not why she did it, were friends, exes none the less but were friends and she has lotta love for your big sis so let's focus on that. Besides, she is an bridesmaid one, and it was her idea to host the dinner here"

Spencer went into defending the situation even though he wasn't all the way knowledgeable about Liv's intentions for hosting his mother's rehearsal dinner. Sure she loved her some Mama Grace, but did her intentions also involve her son? Spencer wasn't too sure if it did or didn't, but he chose not to focus on that.

"If you say so nephew, real recognize real. Just let me know if you need an rubber later"

Spencer choked on the juice he had been drinking hearing his uncle's commentary.

"Unc!"

"What, you know it's only an matter of time before you find yourself between the sheets again"

His uncle shrugged his shoulders attending to his drink while Carter's brother and Spencer made quick eye contact before shaking their heads. He hadn't been around their whole relationship, but after witnessing the eyes they made at each other when he first walked in, that was more than enough information needed for him to know that these two had some serious unfinished business to attend to, now or later.

"Ooookay unc, I hear ya, loud and clear, but I can guarantee you that I won't be needing any of that tonight. Now, you two enjoy your drinks, I'm gonna go finish making my rounds,"

He says dapping both men up with an light laugh crossing the floor to the next group, where his aunties and their husbands stood. Before he could reach them, the loud voice of his childhood bestfriend echoed through the room.

"Okay Spence I see you tryna look all spiffy and what not"

Coop said with Patience right on her heels walking through the Baker house entrance, spotting him, catching wind of his fit for the night. Spencer turned with an smile moving in their pathway.
