Olivia's feet paced the floor of her parents new house swiftly with her hands on her hips and a scowl plastered to her lips. Billy and Laura spoke no words, observing in silence. Their eyes traveled with her body as she moved back and forth on the carpet.

"Sweetheart your making me dizzy, can you sit down for me?" Olivia's eyes glinted towards her father as she huffed.

"I don't wanna sit down right now, you dizzy, coo you sit down then, I'm good" She breathed as Billy's eyes shot to his wife while she shrugged her shoulders. He smacked his lips before taking an long deep breath in himself, easing his way out of his daughter's tude she was giving him.

"Ok because I know your not all the way there right now, I'mma let that one slide" Laura waved her husband off as she reached her hand out for her adolescent daughter.

"Billy not now. Liv, are you oka-"

"No! No I'm not okay mom!" The sudden change in her tone of voice startled her parents as they jumped an little. Worry was etched across their faces as she went off.

"Everything is falling apart! All this bs with Wade, my journalism career, and on top of all of that, the relationship I waited two years to have with Spencer is falling apart too, so no, I'm far from...okay" Her voice was hoarse towards the end. Billy comforted his child, placing an hand on her shoulder.

"Okay, honey just breathe for an moment. Come on, sit down with us" Both parents summoned her to the couch. Once they got her settled, Olivia talked slowly about the arguments her and Spencer have been having pertaining to the material she writes and how it effects their dynamic as an couple.

"I don't know what to do anymore mom, we manage to be on the same page about everything else except this. I know I made it hard for him to not believe me about Wade, cuz I was technically wrong the first time-"

"Technically wrong or you were?" Laura turned to face her daughter. Olivia sighed as her eyes dropped to her lap in shame.

"Ok I was wrong the first time, but that doesn't takeaway from the fact that as my boyfriend, he should trust my judgement" Billy placed an hand on her knee.

"Your right on that baby girl, and nobody knows him like you do. You seem hurt by the idea of him not trusting your judgement"

"I am"

"You should be. Now ask yourself this, how do you think he felt when he learned you were keeping things from him, you think he would be hurt by that too?" Laura chimed in as Olivia's back sunk into the couch pondering this question.

"I mean....yeah, and I get it, guess I just didn't see it that way at first. So what do I do now?" Laura took her daughter's hand, Billy taking the other.

"Listen, if there's one thing I've learned about marriage or relationships in general, I've learned that communication is key, and you and Spencer are going through an rough patch navigating your impending careers while trying to find the balance in that for yourself and each other, but you won't find that balance without talking about the things you don't want to talk about it. Your're both very strong headed and that can sometimes be an bad thing because it enables you to hide your true feelings and thats not healthy. So take some time to cool off, sleep here tonight, then when your ready to do so, talk to him" Olivia looked at her parents at the same time glancing to her father as he nodded his head, in agreement of his wife's wise words. She reeled them in closer so they could embrace her as an lone tear came down. Elsewhere Spencer was having an similar conversation.

"I just don't want her sacrificing what she wants just for the sake of being with me because that won't make any of us happy. If I let her do that, she'll grow to resent me for it later and that's not how I envisioned my relationship Ma" Grace rested her hand on his arm sliding the fresh cup of hot cocoa in his direction.
