First Valentine's Day with his now girlfriend, Olivia Baker. The level of pressure complimenting his nerves right now wasn't doing much for the young man's anxiety. Olivia and Spencer had been close friends since early childhood, practically inseparable. Spencer had held in his feelings for her since he was twelve. He had walked up to her at recess and kissed her cheek, her response was slapping him then coming to his house with a hug and freshly baked cookies in hand as an apology. From that moment on, he decided that he wouldn't initiate anything else outside of their friendship unless she made the first move, and she did. Last August, before he went away for his senior year at UCLA, she showed up at his house, simply saying, "I don't wanna be just your friend anymore" grabbing his face kissing him.
They've been together ever since, but there was one thing he's been waiting to get off his chest that he has been super hesitant to do, those three magic words. The three words that give you all the feels and nerves all at once. The three words that everyone wants to hear at some point in their relationship. One that makes your heart warm and fuzzy and skip million beats per minute. He'd known her his whole life but had only been dating her for an measly six months now, and though he knew in his heart it was true, he didn't want to rush things, so he waited out until something special they could celebrate came up so he could tell her. He checked his watch peeping the time before she would arrive, slipping two red boxes into his pockets. He lit every candle and spread the roses to surround the blanket and food basket, directly in front of his 50-inch Roku. He went to the back, retrieving the blindfold from his room, setting it down on the table, next to the Olivia's gift bag/V-day presents. It was their first one they'd celebrate as a couple, so he wanted to make it very special. Few moments came and gone before he got an incoming text from her.
Mine 💜: I'm outside
My person 💜: I'll be right down
He gave her a quick response before he slipped the blindfold in his pocket, walking out his door, jogging down the steps. She stood before him with one of her red, silky dresses, curls sitting atop of her head, and gold hoops in her ear, light makeup, and lashes to accentuate her look even more. He opened the door and she grabbed him by his collar pulling her lips to his. He pulled away from her with a bright smile.
"Hi"
"Hi" she kissed his lips again.
"I've missed you"
"It's been three days Liv" he chuckled to his girlfriend's antics.
"Three days too long" She lunged forward wrapping her arms around his neck as they warmly embraced each other. He pulled away looking into her eyes.
"Trust me?"
"Of course," She giggled pecking his cheek. He returned her sentiment by peppering her face with a bunch of kisses making her squeal under his touch.
"Good, now close your eyes for me" She lifted her brows before he gave her a knowing look to refrain from asking anymore questions. She obliged, rolling her eyes playfully before closing them. He pulled out the blindfold, covering her eyes with it, making sure he didn't tye it on too tightly.
"That too tight?"
"No baby, it's fine, but how am I gonna get upstairs?"
"Again, with the questions woman, just trust me, I got you" She smacked her lips huffing before nodding. He took both of her hands into his as they started their journey up the stairs.
"Spencer Alonzo James if you make me fall down these stairs" She stumbled on her own missing a step though guided her in the right direction.
"If you did feel free to blame that on your clumsiness"
