Chapter 5

Tears rolled down my cheek even before I could notice. "I have to take a shower." With that, I entered the bathroom. I stripped and let hot water roll down every inch of my body. Did she really leave? How could she get a ticket so soon? Unless she was planning this for the past two days. She wanted me to forget that face. But her method didn't work, why? Or how could she even do something like that? First, a wound that I knew she had, disappeared. Second, she won't let me sleep or come with her to the donors' exactly where an animal breakout had happened. Wait, an animal breakout in the centre of the city that's crawling with people? Third, I see her face and it's the face of something like a demon. And she looked like she hadn't aged a day since she left. What the hell did all these mean??

That's for later to think about.

First day of school today!! Ohh I hate school right now. Besides, I didn't have a proper dress to wear.

On the way to my room, I peeked inside Katies' to check if anything was there. There was! Lying on the bed was an eye-catching navy blue jumpsuit and beside it was a letter.

Supposedly I'm the worst sister in the world. But I left for a reason. Don't worry, I'll come back as soon as the course ends. Anyways, just know that I'll be a facetime away. Convey this to mom and dad, I am extremely sorry. Hope I haven't spoiled your first day. As a gift, I give this Jumpsuit to you.

I immediately grabbed my phone and texted that idiot.

Kyra: Wth?

When I saw she was typing a dumb reply, I called her. Not wanting to see her, I did not facetime with her. She picked up at the second ring.

"Kyra, I am so sorry. I can explain. Sorry." These words rushed out her mouth like if she didn't say them now, she'd never get a chance to say them. But I didn't respond. Not yet.

"Kyra?" she prompted. After a long pause, I gathered my courage to say,

"What are you?"

"Uh what, umm I didn't quite catch that."

"I said, 'What the hell are you?!" She didn't respond so I said,

"Hear me out. First, a wound that I swear I saw disappeared. Second, You wouldn't let me sleep or go to the donors' exactly where an animal breakout happened. Third, you look like you haven't aged a day since you left. And fourth, the other night. Your face, it was like a demons'."

"What? You are not supposed to remember that. I made you forget."

"Yeah, whatever method you tried, didn't work on me." It took even longer for Katie to reply.

" I'm a vampire, Kyra." I was on the verge of bursting out of laughter. But it just might be true.

"What? No, it can't be. It's not possible."

"I know, Kyra. But let me expl..." But I interrupted her.

"You better!"

"But not now, I just landed and I have to catch another flight to reach London. But I promise, I'll call as soon as I reach there. I promise." I hung up.
