What did she just say?!?

"I was?!" I exclaimed.

"Yes!! Bob was poisoned with silver and something else. Some rare liquid! Great job, Ms.Samuel!!"

Everybody cheered and I mumbled, "Thanks."

"Okay, now. I want everything, I mean it. Everything that you found, on this desk. Now." Ella said and I said to myself, 'It's Bob's fingerprint. Why do I need to give that away? That's the first fingerprint I found!' So I didn't give it to her. I quickly stuck the tape on a sealable cover and put it in my bag. After everyone gave whatever they found, we stepped outside. Mom immediately came to me and asked, "What did you find?"

"One print mom. Bob's." I said lousily.

"Did you give it to them? You know, it's okay to have it with you."

"I didn't give it. Not my first print!!" I said and she smiled. Just like that, that day was over.

I started walking though mom insisted she drop me home. Tristan joined me. That made mom leave.

"Thank you." I said after she left.

He waved it off and then said, "I heard one of the students found a totally different fingerprint near the victim. They are closely investigating that. Just thought you needed to know that."

"Really? That's great!" I said without showing excitement in my voice.

"Okay, spill it."

"What?"

"What's going on? With your mom and stuff."

"Nothing's going on." I said and he stared at me. He definitely did not buy it. "Fine. We haven't been talking much lately and I don't know why she's pestering me like I'm a five year old." I sighed.

"All moms find it tough to see that their kids have grown up."

"And look who that's coming from." I smiled a little.

"What? You asked me! Anyways, that's a famous dialogue from the teaser of 'Immortal Memories'."

"The teasers' out? Shit. I haven't seen it yet."

"Were you waiting for that?"

"Kinda, yes. The director of the movie is Carla's dad so it is mandatory that I...."

"Wait. Clyde Thompson is Carla Thompson's dad? Oh my god. How could I not figure it out earlier?"

"And I thought you weren't the movie guy."

"No way, I have to meet him. I absolutely love his work."

"Are you free today?"

"If it's for this, then hell yeah. I am."

"Didn't know you were such a fan."

"I too have my interests."

I laughed and said, "Okay, I'll meet you at the junction at 5. We can go to her house together."

"I'll be waiting from 4 then." We were already at the junction and we parted. I went home and refreshed myself. I watched an episode of The Originals and it was 4. My phone rang. Tristan was calling. I picked up and said, "Hey, what's up?"

"What's up? I've been waiting for about 30 minutes. Where are you?"

"It's 4 now."

"I told ya I'd be waiting for you from 4. Come on."

"Okay.. Give me 10 minutes."

"Nope. You are coming here right now."

I sighed and said, "Okay, fine." I hung up and walked straight out of the house. When I saw him across the road, he was already waving his hand asking me to walk faster. I crossed the road and said, "What's the matter with you?"

"Nothing. Come on." He pulled my hand and started walking extremely fast. He was going in the wrong direction.

"Stop. You're going in the wrong direction." I exclaimed.

"Sorry. I'm just too excited. Sorry. Lead the way." he said and I took him to Carla's house. Right before I could ring the bell he pulled my hand away.

"What now?" I asked.

"Will we be disturbing him?" he asked. He is one hell of a fan.

"Let's go back then."

"Ugh, okay. Let's do this." he said and I rang the bell. Carla opened the door and was utterly shocked to see us.

"Hey guys!! What are you doing here?"

"Tristan, apparently, is a great fan of your dad. So.."

"Ohh, come on in." We went inside. Her house is a very small and compact one. The main door enters into the living room and the kitchen is attached to it. Upstairs are all the bedrooms.

"This way!!" she said as she guided the way.

We reached Mr.Thompson's room and Carla knocked on the door. "Yes?" Mr.Thompson asked.

"Dad, a friend of mine is a great fan of yours. So he's here to meet you."

"I'll leave if you're busy." Tristan added.

"No need. Come in." he said and we went inside.

"Hi Kyra. How are you?" he asked as he saw me.

"I am never better. This is Tristan Mendoza. He is a die-hard fan of yours."

"Hello sir. I absolutely love your work. And Immortal Memories is my most favourite one." Tristan said.

"Hello Tristan. Pleasure to meet you. And it's so good to hear those from you. But I'm having some difficulties in finalizing the end of the movie. Can you guys help me?"

"Me?" Tristan exclaimed.

"Yes," he said. Tristan locked his fingers with mine and pressed hard before saying, "Okay." We spent the evening coming up with new ideas for the ending. The story was about an overprotective mother struggling to accept that her daughter is grown up. Finally she dies and that's when the daughter realises how much she cared for her. But in the end, it turns out her mother didn't die after all. But how? That was the question Mr.Thompson wanted us to answer.

"How about, she becomes a vampire?" I said.

"Hmm. Good idea. Actually an excellent idea. It matches with the movie name and expresses more meaning. Great job, Kyra!" Clyde said and I smiled.
