Chapter 19

As soon as I reached home, I called mom.

"Hi honey!!! How was your day?" she exclaimed.

"It was great. I really enjoyed it."

"Hmm, oh no. Sweetie, you know what? I'll call you back in sometime. Bye!" I didn't even get the chance to say bye. She hung up as soon as she finished her sentence. Some jingling sound caught my attention. The sound was coming from.. not the charm bracelet, but from the necklace Katie gave me!! I totally forgot about that!! I immediately called Katie.

"Yo Kyra!" said.. Jake?

"Hi Jake!! Where's Katie?" I asked.

"She's in the restroom. Here she comes. T!! Kyra's on the phone."

"Thanks! Hello?" she said.

"Hi Katie!"

"Okay, tell me everything that happened today." Oh god. I badly wanted to get to the point for which I actually called her. But, she's my sister and I need to tell her what she asks me too.

"Before that, did Jake just call you 'T' ?" I giggled.

"He made it up just yesterday. I think he's obsessed with that name." she said.

"But I think he's obsessed with you. I know you haven't told him that you like him."

"Yes I haven't, because we're just friends."

"Is it now? Come on!! Tell him!!"

"Okay, I accept that I might have feelings for him but I can't tell that to him!"

"Fine. But you are gonna tell him at some point."

"Leave it now. Tell me about your day!!" she said and I did, including the things that happened with You-know-who. I don't like saying his name again and again. But since I call him 'You-know-who', doesn't mean he's Lord Voldemort. After I finished, she said, "Things are really messed up between you guys. Just like me and Jake."

"Yeah.. Anyhow, telling you about my day wasn't the actual reason I called you for. I called for this.." I said pointing to the necklace on my neck.

"Oh. Umm Jake gave it to me after he found me on the pavement, unconscious. He said it's spelled by some local witch to resist compulsion. So I gave it to you."

"A witch? I thought only vampires existed."

"No. There's this triangle formed by witches, vampires and werewolves. One cannot exist without the other, in the sense, the triangle will not be balanced if one of them doesn't exist."

"So, werewolves exist too?"

"Yeah, but I doubt you can spot them in New Orleans."

"Oh, but anyways, how did I resist your compulsion?"

"That. I researched about that and found out that if a vampire and a human share the same blood, that is the same type and both of them should be related to each other, then the human will resist just that vampire's compulsion.

"Oh makes absolute sense to me. Yeah,... what the hell?" A notification popped up on my screen.

                                            Carla added Tristan

"Uhh Katie I'll call you later, okay? Something's happened and I just need to check it up. Sorry, bye!!" I hung up immediately. This was a big deal for me as Carla just added Tristan in our personal besties' group. We even named the group 'Trio!!' since it was always the three of us. We may have made many friends in the past but we never have added them in this group!!

Kyra: Why did you add Tristan in our group?? You know that's a very very personal group!!

Carla: What? We just went to The Treacherous Waters with him!! He's one of our besties now!

Kyra: Okay, but adding him in 'Trio!!' ?

Carla: Come on Kyra!!! Just because you have a grudge on him, doesn't mean he isn't your friend.

Kyra: Excuse me? A grudge? Nonsense.

Carla: What's going on with you? Did something happen between you two?

Kyra: I'm sorry Carl. I don't know why I'm reacting like this or why I'm doing anything.

Carla: Can I call you?

Kyra: Yeah, I think I need a Carapy.

A Carapy is Carla + therapy. Carla gives the best advice a friend can give. She called soon after that.

"Hey Ky. What's going on?"

"Carla before I say anything, I'm sorry. I acted up because of a different reason."

"I know.. Tell me about it."

"I don't know what to say. I just know that things are too messed up between me and You-know-who."

"You call him 'You-know-who' ? That's a bit harsh but coming to the point... " I interrupted her by saying, "No, I just don't want to repeat his name again and again."

"I was just kidding. But, coming to the point, what happened?" I told her about the incident in the merry-go-round and how I act weirdly around him.

"I just am not sure why I feel the way I do!" I said after completing.

"It's now very clear that you like him."

"I don't think so."

"Fine, have it your way. Then why are you acting like that?"

"That's the point! I don't know!!"

She sighed and said, "Okay, let it be. We'll see on Monday." That's when I realised we had to meet in school anyhow.

"Still a day left! What do you think I should do?"

"Oooh.. Watch 'The Originals'. It is the spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. And I tell you, it is way better than TVD."

"Oh okay. I'll start watching!! Anyways thanks for the Carapy. Bye!!"

"Anytime, bye!!" she said and hung up.
