"Bye! Have fun! Do not worry about me. All your attention needs to be on your vacation." I said and they left. Phew!
"We'll have to sneak into the precinct and get my dad's badge." I said.
"Oooh! Finally, breaking into the precinct." Carla said.
"Carla, we're not gonna break into it. I'm just gonna go and sneak it off." I said. Everybody had packed some clothes for them and assembled at my house since I'm the one that has a car which can be driven without permission. We decided that no one will answer our questions until we have a badge. Dad will be on vacation so there's no chance anyone would notice that his badge is gone. I drove to the precinct.
I went to dad's desk and easily snooped his badge off his table. I put the badge inside the bag I brought and I found something else inside it. The first fingerprint I found. There was a print running machine so I decided to run it. I closed the door and shutters. I slowly took the fingerprint out and ran it. It took a long time but finally, the results came in. What? No, that's insane. That's completely insane. The print wasn't Bob's. It was someone else's. Someone I knew. I immediately deleted the print from the history and hurried out of the office. A voice called out to me.
"Kyra? What are you doing here?"
I turned around. "Ella! I didn't know you were working here. I was just, you know, checking my future working place!" I sarcastically said.
"How do you have access?" she asked.
"Um, my mom and dad work here."
"Chloe's daughter? Oh! Right! Sorry, I didn't work it out."
"Yeah. Anyways I was just leaving. Bye." I said and left. I reached home soon after that.
"Did you get the badge?" Tristan asked.
"Yeah." I said. My mind was totally focused on whom that print belonged to.
"Carla, I need to talk to you." I said and pulled her into my room and locked the door.
"Um, what happened?" she asked.
"I ran the print I found at the crime scene. And it matched to.. uh um Paul."
"What? Tristan's dad?" she exclaimed.
"I think he is the original vampire hunter." My voice cracked as I told her.
"Oh my god, that, that, that's insane." she stuttered.
"Make sure Tristan doesn't know this o-okay?" I said.
She nodded. A knock on the door made us jump. "What are you doing? We need to get going. Come on!" Tristan said. I cleared my throat and said, "Y-Yeah, we'll be there."
"You're just making it obvious that you're hiding something." Carla said after he left.
"I know, I'm trying not to." I said and we headed downstairs. Adam and Tristan were seriously talking about something and stopped abruptly as they saw us.
"Shall we go?" Adam asked. I nodded. We entered the car. Since Carla knew the address, she volunteered to drive. I sat in the passenger seat beside her. Adam and Tristan sat next to each other behind us. I took out my phone and started listening to music with my headphones. I decided to listen to something other than One Direction. So I listened to 'There's nothing holding me back' by Shawn Mendes, 'Blank Space' by Taylor Swift, 'Footloose' by Kenny Loggins, 'Bad Guy' by Billie Eilish and 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran and we were already there.
"I think this is it." Carla said. To my left was the Freezing Brains. To my right was Old West Antiques. We stepped out of the car and I took dad's badge out of the bag. Everybody was about to go in, when I said, "Wait, if everybody goes, the shop owner would suspect something. Just two people would be enough."
