Chapter 14

The next morning I talked briefly to mom and dad before they left.

"Mom ..Dad.. I need to talk to you."

"Yes, honey?" said dad.

"My mind is very confused and I don't know what to say, but I think I need a break. A vacation or something to clear it all out."

"I understand sweetie, but you know we are busy," said mom.

"No, I get that. Maybe I can go with my friends or something?" When they didn't reply to that, I added, "Here's the thing, I badly want to go somewhere. Have a clear mind. I can't even focus in class. I'm easily getting lost in my thoughts. Please?"

"You're right. We haven't been around for you lately. I guess that's a major con of the job. So, yes. You can, just tell me where." dad said and I was literally jumping around the living room. Mom smiled to let me know that she was okay with it too. Since Carla and I are in the same school, the plan will work out for us. But for Adam? I guess he'll have to take a leave for a day. Here lies the main question, where are we going?

Anyways, today's Thursday so there'll be two days to plan and two days to spend if we need to. I guess the parent that tags along with us is Mrs.Thompson as Mr.Thompson is a director and is currently working on a movie called 'Immortal Memories' . Well, not everything is planned but it will be, as soon as it reaches Carla's ears. So, let's get to school.

When I did, I found Carla and told her all about the plan for a vacation. As I told you, she immediately suggested where we should go.

"To the Treacherous Waters we go!!!" Carla shouted. Treacherous Waters was a water park I always longed to go to.

"You sure??!!!" I exclaimed.

" 'Course. Who doesn't want to go there? Huh?"

"Great. So I guess we go there on Saturday morning? Cause you know, if it gets late, then no problemo!!"

"Yeahhh!!!! Totally. So, who's coming? You, Adam, me and what about Tristan?" I totally forgot about that dude.

"I might have not considered him. God, how could I have forgotten Tristan!!"

"What about me?" he said. I wasn't shocked as we were standing in the corridor.

"Umm, we are uh going to...." I said when Carla interrupted me.

"The Treacherous Waters!!" she shouted with utter excitement.

"No way! I've always wanted to go there!!!" he said

"Then you come with us!!!!" said Carla

"If you want." I completed it.

"Of course I'm coming!!!!!!" It was obvious that he would come.

"Are you sure your parents will allow you?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Uh dad won't but mom will. So.."

"Oh, then it ain't a problem." I said. As usual, I took the seat beside the window and Tristan sat beside me!! Carla sat on the bench in front of us. I think I don't need to tell you about the lessons as they are the same filling-my-mind-to-the-brim gibberish. But we did discuss what we're going to do at the park in our breaks.

The whole of Thursday and half of Friday, went off like that. On Friday evening, I Facetimed Katie to fill her in about the trip.

"Hey Katie!!" I said as she picked up.

"Hello Kyra!!" she said.

"Guess what?"

"What? Tell me. You know I hate cliffhangers."

"Okay, we're going to the Treacherous Waters!!!!"

"What? Noooo. I never got a chance to go there.." she mumbled.

"Yeah. But mom and dad are busy, so I'm going with my friends."

"Even better... Who are all coming?"

"Uh me, Carla, Adam and Tristan."

"Hmm. You didn't tell me much about this Tristan guy."

"Well, his name is Tristan Mendoza. He's a bit irritating, but cool."

"Oh okay." she said with a little smile. That's when I saw Jake in the background.

"Hey Jake!"

"Yo Kyra! What's up?" he asked.

"Nothing, but I always wanted to ask you this question. Which is your favourite song by One Direction?"

"Oooh. That's a tricky question. I kinda like every single one of their songs."

"Guys, can we talk about something else? Something more interesting?" said Katie.

"Katie, this is interesting." Jake and I chorused. She shook her head in disagreement and left the room.

"Okay, 'What Makes You Beautiful' might be a little old but.."

"No way!! It is a classic song!" I exclaimed.

"Yep! I like it because it's... I don't know what to say."

"It's the best song ever? Get that?" I said with a chuckle.

"Ha totally." he said while trying to control his laughter. After a few discussions, Jake made a decision that

" 'Midnight Memories' is the one."

"Aaaaahhhh I can never stop singing that one!!!"

"So, what's yours?" he asked.

"Um, that's very difficult. I can give you the best five, because it's impossible to choose the best one! So, 'Best Song Ever' , 'Live While We're Young' , 'Midnight Memories' , 'End of The Day' , 'Steal My Girl'. Phew, never thought it would be this difficult."

"Cool selection. I love your sense of music!!!!!" he shouted.

"I don't know why, but I just love the 'Best Song Ever'. Maybe uh maybe... " I stammered.

"It's the way she walked? Do you get that?" he said and I burst out laughing. Soon Katie walked back into the room.''

"What were you doing, Katie?" I asked.

"I went to take a shower." she said,

"But your showers take a long time." I said while giggling.

"Your boy band gossip, take a long time too." she said and Jake and I were grinning ear to ear.

"Anyways, I should get packing for tomorrow." I could see the jealousy on Katie's face. "God, it feels so good to see you jealous, Katie!" I said.

"Hmm, I should get going .. See ya later Kyra!!" said Jake and I hung up.
