"Okay, calm down and tell us what it is." Jake said. I found out that he was talking to Katie but when I asked if I could do that, Jake said that she was asleep. Something was definitely going on.

"Tristan threw the knife at Isaiah and it hit him." I started explaining. "The knife was slicked with his blood. And Isaiah used the same knife to cut me. So, his blood must've entered my body."

"That's the craziest theory I've ever heard." Adam confessed.

"Well, if I'm right, then my wounds must've healed." I said and started to unwrap the bandage around my left forearm. I ripped it off to find perfectly fine, shiny skin underneath. I pulled out the bandage around my neck. And again, there wasn't a speck of a clue to what damage had been done. "See?"

"So we're supposed to be thankful that Isaiah used the same knife to cut you?" Tristan asked.

"Yeah, kinda." I said. I wondered if Isaiah knew about this theory. I wondered if he did it on purpose. But again, it was over. Katie was fine, even though I didn't see her. The Tiras Hunt was over. "And I filled in the blank part of Kevin's sentence. If a vampire gives their blood to a human, then they-"

"Acquire the power of healing." Everyone chorused. I smiled and nodded.

"That explains why I healed back at the meeting." Tristan said, shrugging. "But I didn't drink any vampire's blood."

"You did," I said. "Katie gave you that drink or something. It should have had her blood."

"Yuck! I drank blood? Ew. We should rename it from 'drink' to 'bloody drink'." Tristan said and everyone laughed.

"I'm going to see Katie." I said, standing up.

Literally everyone looked at each other's face and then said something at the same time. The overlapping of voices made it even harder to make out what they were saying.

"Okay, what's going on? Why shouldn't I see her?" I demanded.

"She needs time to rest before she can-" Tracy started but I cut her off by saying, "She's rested well enough. What's the matter?"

"She doesn't want to see you." Tristan said, firmly but his voice wavered a bit.

"What?" I asked. My eyes widened with disbelief.

"She blames herself for what she did to you." Tristan was the only one who answered.

"What she did to me?" I exclaimed. "That- that's not her fault. It wasn't her at all! Oh, god."

"She said that she didn't want to speak to you until.." Tristan just let the end float around.

"That's it. I'm seeing her." I said and marched up to Jude's room. I learnt from Tristan that Jude was staying at her friend's house for the week. I knocked twice before opening the door. Inside, Katie was sitting on the edges of the bed and stood up as soon as she saw me.

"Kyra, go away." she plainly said.

"Katie, the one who bit me..The one who hurt me..It wasn't you. It was the silver, making its way to your heart. I know it wasn't you. It was definitely not your fault. It was no one's fault. I'm totally fine, as you can see."

"I know you're fine, Kyra. You say that it wasn't me who hurt you. But it was. I was there but I could do nothing about it."

"Oh, Katie" I moved forward to hug her but she flinched back.

"Don't. I might hurt you."

"And I don't care." I threw my arms around her, making her jump. "You are my sister after all. Wait, you gave yourself an interesting title earlier. What was that?" I felt her cheeks expand which meant that she was smiling.

We both chorused, "Vampire Sister."
