We left Carla's house soon after that. I walked with Tristan till the junction. When we did he said, "Thank you for everything and I'm sorry. I just overreacted."

"That's fine. I know how excited you were." I said and I crossed the road. I reached home and sprawled out on the bed and thought about what had happened today. That's when my phone rang. Tristan was calling. I picked up and said, "Hey,"

"Um, hi Kyra. This is Tristan's mom." Why is she calling me?

"Oh, hi.. Tracy."

"Finally you called me Tracy. Um I just called to uh talk to you about the relationship between you and Tristan. He was never happy before he met you. Things were pretty bad between him and his dad. But he's happy now. Because of you."

"I didn't do anything. I just met him."

"That's all he needed. But, is there anything going on between you two now?"

"No, nothing."

"You know, you can be honest with me."

"Okay, I messed things up by overreacting to a small thing and now we're kinda um, refusing that there was something between us."

"Mm-hmm. I know my son. He'll fix it. I'm sure of that. Anyways I just wanted to know what happened. Thank you."

"Uh, yeah. Bye!"

"Bye!" Tracy said and hung up. I could talk about my relationships with Tristan's mom but not mine? I felt really bad. I decided to tell her everything tonight. So when mom came home and was refreshed, I said, "Mom, I need to talk to you."

"Yes, dear. I need to talk to you as well." she said and I told her about everything, literally everything that happened between me and Tristan.

"Seems pretty complicated. When I first met your dad..." she started but I interrupted her.

"No mom. Not that story again."

"Come on. You never listened till the end." she said. I grunted and gave in. She cleared her throat before beginning.

"I met your dad when I was seventeen. At criminology high school, just like you. But it was quite the opposite of your situation. He bumped into me and quickly went away. I met him again at lunch and we introduced ourselves. Soon after that, we started talking and hanging out. It was pretty much an easy relationship."

"Yeah, totally unlike mine."

"You should tell him what you feel."

"So you're saying that I should say 'Hey Tristan! I don't even know what I should feel!'. Cause' that's the truth. I don't know what I'm supposed to feel."

"You are not supposed to feel anything. You will feel it by yourself. That feeling you're experiencing right now, it'll pass."

"Hope it does."

"You know, we should do this more often. Frank talks."

"Yeah," I said.

"Okay, off you go. You have school tomorrow, remember?"

"Ugh, yes." I said and went off to my room.

I woke up the next morning. Did my morning routine and went to school. As all the students entered, a woman walked into the room. Wait, Ella Jones?

Another teacher, whom I did not recognise was there. She said, "Hello everyone. I'm Mrs.Wilson. And this is Ella Jones, your new Forensics teacher." She took up a job in our school? Everyone applauded. So I did too. After the introductions there were some disturbances while students shifted their places. Before I knew it, Tristan was sitting beside me.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey, I just wanted to tell you something."

"Go ahead."

He cleared his throat and said, "I know things are messed up between us, but I'll make it up." Before I could say anything he stood up and moved back to his original position. What did that mean? Carla sat beside me.

"What was that?" she asked.

"Later, Carla."

"Okay," she said and I turned all my attention to Ella.

"Hello everyone!! It's a pleasure to meet you all, once again. And I should say, you really helped us find the killer. That's right, we found the killer!" Ella said and everyone cheered.

"It was you guys that discovered the killer's fingerprint and provided us with enough proof to arrest him. So, thank you! Now, I'm your new forensics teacher. As a welcome to myself and a celebration for finding the killer, we decided to have a little party." Now those cheers were louder than anything. Ella shushed everyone and continued. "It is also a charity event, but it is no less of music and dance."
