Oh no. That nightmare was just becoming true. If that was what was happening, then Kevin's blood will do no good to her. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. My stomach did a flip, making me realise that I didn't eat anything. 'Huh, eating seems like something a normal person would do. Wait, I am normal. Anyways, time to check if my nightmare is true.' I told myself. I scurried downstairs and skipped the last step. I tumbled down but he caught me.

"Whoa, slow down, Ky. Everyone's awaiting the moment of truth." he said.

I grinned and said, "Thanks Adam." He just nodded in response and turned towards Kevin. Carla whispered something in my ear but I didn't understand a word. She cleared her throat and said, "Kevin, you know what? I just completed The Vampire Diaries. It was awesome. We should watch it together sometime."

Kevin flinched. That's when I could make out what Carla whispered. 'Help me as I confirm that he is a vampire.' I immediately said, "Yeah, the vampires were great."

He flinched once again. I nodded to Carla. Tristan, who probably just understood all this said, "We need to talk to you, alone." Kevin must've figured that we really weren't his friends and we knew about vampires because he gestured for Sarah to give them a moment. Sarah reluctantly put on her headphones and said, "I'm going for a walk." The moment she shut the door behind her, Kevin asked, "Who are you guys?"

"Look, Kevin." Carla said. "We don't have time. So long story short." She cleared her throat once again. "We know about witches, werewolves, and vampires. Katie over there," she pointed to Katie, "is a vampire like you and was shot with silver infused with vampire blood. Now that is killing her. As her sotíras, only your blood can save her. So, get on with it already."

He took a step back, his face in absolute shock. "Look," he started, "I might be a vampire, but I never turned anyone. I swear I'm no one's sotíras."

My heart literally stopped. My mouth dropped open and everyone else's too. While in these kinds of situations in movies, the person was supposed to be in shock. Their brain will not be working. But on the contrary, my brain was buzzing with questions and was already trying to come up with a solution. Tristan laid his hand on my shoulder. I ignored him and said, "What?"

"I'm ..not lying. I did not turn Kasie." The shock on Kevin's face remained there. 'It's Katie, you idiot!' I wanted to say, but instead, I said, "That's not possible. That's just not possible." I racked my brain for some idea. The necklace. He must recognise it. I quickly ripped it off my neck and showed it to him.

"You must've seen this, considering it has your picture." I said. He suspiciously stared at me while he opened it. He gasped in surprise.

"How did you get this?" he asked.

"You gave it to Katie as a clue to find you." Carla said.

"No, I did NOT turn her. And I lost this." Kevin handed the necklace back to me.

"Well, was it you who went to The Inner Eye asking the witch to reinforce the compulsion repelling power?" Adam broke the silence.

"How the freaking hell do you know about this stuff?" Kevin asked.

"Let's just say," Tristan said, "that we ran the shop Id on the back of the necklace, got the address and went to Old West Antiques. Found out from a granny that a witch gave her the necklace and that she ran The Inner Eye. Got the address, went there, the witch told us about how you came to her about two years ago, asking to reinforce the compulsion repelling power and that it was for a friend. Begged her to open it, saw the cute little picture of you and Sarah, used a face runner, got the address, and came here." He took a deep breath as if he ran out of it. Because he did. He said that in one breath.
