Walking into her Georgetown home, Tarryn sighs as she closed the door. She already knew where Ephraim was so she went upstairs and dropped her things by the bedroom door. Tears welled up in her eyes as she plopped on the bed.
Tarryn had just left from the White House and she was in a two hour meeting with the President, the First Lady and other officials. Once she left from the White House, she was taken to the Bureau headquarters where Lisa Cambridge was being held. Tarryn just couldn't wrap her head around Lisa Cambridge being in the same building as her.
She's a professional DEA agent who's good at hiding, and hiding in plain sight. She's been in deep cover all of this time so why walk on U street, Northwest with a gun in your hand, in plain sight? She wanted to get caught. That was the conclusion that she came up with.
She told Ephraim where she'd been all day and Ephraim patted the bed so she could scoot closer. He took off all of her clothes for her and grabbed her bonnet and put it on for her. She lets out a huge sigh and turned to him when he got back in the bed.
"Lay it on me," Ephraim told her.
"Lisa Cambridge is in federal custody. There's also a discussion as to if I should remain Attorney General, for my safety." She said with a sigh.
In all honesty, she was pissed because she felt like she earned that spot as Attorney General so why is there even a discussion as to whether she's strong enough for the job? Amongst the open discussion, the District Attorney's job position had filled the air and that's what the President was hinting at.
The DA's office feels like open season. You get any and every type of case there is and they expect you, on behalf of the government to handle it accordingly. She's so used to working top cases that petty crimes won't phase her.
She asked the President why and all he kept saying was 'for your protection'. She heard what he said but she felt that it wasn't a real response. She wanted the real response to why he's offering her up so easily; like she didn't put in hard work or something.
She just wants to know what's going to happen if or when she accepts the offer from the President. She doesn't want to but she already sees his wheels turning, and for some reason, it hurt Tarryn's feelings.
"So he wants you to step down as AG because of Lisa Cambridge? She's in custody, she's no longer a threat to you or the country so I'm just not understanding what's the issue here," Ephraim said, full of confusion.
"She wanted to get caught. She was out in public and they found her on U street with an unauthorized gun on her. I was there at the interrogation and of course I come into the conversation and you wouldn't even believe what I heard," She told him and this made him sit up.
"The Feds picked her up or regular DC police?" She told him the Feds and he nods. "Okay so what she say?"
"She said that she targeted me because she hated me for representing DeMarcus Cambridge. That he wasn't as innocent as me and the media thinks he is and that he deserved everything he got, including the killing of his aunt. But for sure, she killed DeMarcus. Special Agent George asked her why did she kill DeMarcus and she said that he cheated on her and broke her heart. She also said that DeMarcus isn't all what he's cracked up to be." Tarryn explains and that threw Ephraim for a loop.
"What the fuck..." He trails off.
"He has a whole 'nother family that he hid from her, two kids and a wife, and besides me representing him as his lawyer, she also targeted me because she knows that I am pregnant and that she wanted me to suffer like she suffered. She can't bare children and knowing that he has a secret family, and finding out that I was pregnant, she wanted everyone to feel how she feels. Heartbroken and alone. Plus, she said that she was tired of running. She wanted to get caught."
