It had been a week and Virtue and Exodus were on a wine tasting lunch date. They were wine tasting to see which type of wine they'd serve at the wedding. Virtue's choice was white wine while Exodus' choice wasn't wine at all.

"But Papa don't you think that sparkling cider is a bit juvenile?" Her face goes into a pout as she looks at him.

"We don't even drink Yashara," He pointed out, and it was true.

Sure, Exodus did have champagne and wine before, but he can count on his fingers specifically on one hand the amount of times that he faithfully took a sip. The last time he sipped was at Tarryn and Ephraim's wedding. Virtue knows that they don't drink but she feels like their guests would appreciate a lil adult sip if it was offered.

"We don't but we not offering our guest grape flavored cider. We might as well give them a Kool-Aid Jammer," She batted her lashes extra hard just so he can get on board and he caved.

While tasting the wine, they were offered cute little cookies and muffins to put on their stomachs and Virtue ate her own and his. By the end of the wine tasting they both liked this one white wine that they could barely pronounce and they wrote it down for the wedding.

They thanked the associate at the winery and then they left. Walking to the car, Virtue rambled off about their birthdays.

"Someone's turning 28 this year," She cooed against his arm and he cracks a smile.

"I think its time for my handicap parking pass," He joked and she laughs as he helps her in the car. He gets in the car and start it up and drove in the direction of Mama Carryn's house.

"Ouu look at Big Poppa, all tall, dark, and handsome," She gushed and Exodus shakes his head at her.

"Thanks pretty girl," He kissed her cheek and then he pulled out of the driveway. "Speaking of birthdays, what're you doing this year?"

She shrugs, "Staying black and staying in the bed,"

That's how she truly felt. Last year was pretty decent besides getting attacked by Tarryn's ex-lover and being confused for a couple days after that. But she just wanna chill. She just wanna be up under her man and dog.

"So you don't wanna do anything?" He asks in disbelief.

"Nurp, nada, no. And besides my birthday falls on Columbus Day knowing damn well that man ain't discover shit," She folded her arms across her chest.

"So lemme get this straight. You wanna stay at home on your birthday because a white man's holiday is on your birthday?" Exodus was amused by this.

"Not just that aspect but because its a holiday, I can actually take a break. Those 11th and 12th graders are killing me for real. Do you know how many recommendation letters I've written in the past 2 weeks? 13 letters, Papa," She lets out a breath.

Around this time, her seniors were applying for college, asking her for help with scholarships and any other thing that pertains to college and getting in. Make no mistake, she was excited for them because they were excited but lowkey she feels like her students know who to ask; especially for a letter of recommendation or helping with college applications.
