SAME DAY:
Mama Carryn's phone call to Virtue entailed what Tarryn had told her about what went down. Tarryn shed off any and everything that was bothering her, including her fight with Virtue. Virtue couldn't give two dimes and a nickel about Tarryn and her feelings. Stay where you at.
Virtue knows this tactic. She's crying to Mama Carryn because she wants someone on her side. Right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter who's side you're on. Quite frankly, Virtue had to stop Mama Carryn in her sentence concerning Tarryn. She was tired of hearing her name, she was tired of hearing her crying and whining and fake ass apologies, she was tired of her period.
Deep in her heart she was willing to forgive her because they've been friends for so long but this time, she knows that they are done. Its some shit you don't say, its some shit you don't do, and its some shit you don't project. As much as it pains her, Virtue was done with Tarryn.
After that conversation, she cried for a bit because in that conversation was the finality; the head nod to it all. She was done. She'll focus on the family that she do have and marinate on that. Thinking about her godsons hurt her heart too but it is what it is.
When Kamal was on the 5th movie, he finally knocked out. She got up and checked the mail and seen some mail for him. She flipped through, looking for any mail that pertains to her and she did. There was a package and it felt light. She already knew that this was from the Cali fam.
She went back into the house and looked at Kamal. He had one piece of mail in particular and it was from the Department of Motor Vehicles. She knew it had to be his permit. She laid it on the island and then she sat on the couch and opened the gift from Garrett. She knew it was from Garrett because of his small ass hand writing.
Garrett's gift was a framed photo of him and her when she visited California. It was an off-guard picture; she's looking somewhere else and he's looking directly in the camera. It was cute though and she cherished it. She hung it up on the mantel and a thought came to her head.
The wedding gift.
She went upstairs to get it and sat on her bed when it was in her hands. She took a deep breath and opened it. The first thing that touched her hands was money. At least $10,000 worth. It was banded too with a white ribbon and script that said 'cheers'. Clearly this was married money. She smiled small and put that to the side.
After the money was papers that looked pretty serious. She was a pretty smart girl so she can read some fancy documents and stuff. Now if some stuff doesn't make sense, she's surely calling Vanessa.
"Beneficiary...blah blah...home estate...blah blah...in case of death?" Virtue scaled her neck back and that's when shit wasn't making sense. She called Vanessa.
"Merry Christmas my love," Vanessa greeted and Virtue greeted her back.
"Um so I opened my wedding gift and um—you dying?" Was Virtue's first question which made Vanessa crack up.
"No I'm not dying, I am just being prepared. What page are you on?" She asked and Virtue looked at the top of the corner.
"Page 2," She responded.
"Call me back when you get to page 4," And with that, she hung up the phone.
Virtue continue to read the documents and came to the conclusion that this is Vanessa's will. Why is she seeing this? She really doesn't know. She's trying to understand it all. She skimmed through page 3 because she was trying to get to page 4. What the hell was so special about page 4?
